Finally got to try this place. Ordered on Skip. A beef wrap and a chicken wrap plus a lentil soup. They threw in a really fresh piece of bread as part of the soup order (I forget the official name). They also added a dessert as part of a minimum order on Skip.
Everything was exceptionally fresh from the bread, wraps and both the meat and vegetables in each wrap. I preferred the chicken wrap over the beef wrap because it seemed to come with a bit more spice by way of a red sauce that wasn't on the beef wrap, but still both were delicious and HUGE! The wraps are well worth the money. I finished half on one wrap and a quarter of another and was done. Well I also dipped the bread into the lentil soup.
The flavorings are imild but certainly fresh. The raw onions in the wrap add a really nice kick. I wish there was an option to add some hot sauce to the beef wrap, but it is still very filling, delicious and authentic.
Last, the desert was unique for me. Kind of a custard with a browned top. Not my cup of tea but again very fresh, not too sweet and the caramelized topping was quite tasty.
Looking forward to ordering one of their family orders the next time I have a lot of company order. You should definitely try this place. 👍 👍
Edit: in the bottom of both trays for the wraps were some unique yellow peppers 🌶 . I didn't see them. Next time I will throw them in the wrap....
Read moreWe really enjoyed their hospitality and the authentic Turkish food there. The place is cozy, you feel yourself at home. It has clean washrooms downstairs. The server was very nice and service was so fast. It was our first time so we thought to try different things...
First they serve you with salad. We all really enjoyed with its lime taste. We took "mix for 1", it consists of 5 chicken shish pieces, 1 lamb chop, beef döner, nice portion of rice and nice portion of freekeh. Lovely bread is served with the plate too.. The whole plate will make you full.. My only comment here is that the beef döner pieces was overcooked..
Also we ordered "Iskender Kebab", it consists of beef döner in tomato sauce and bread pieces and yogurt. Taste was mouthwatering.. The only thing that annoyed is that the beef döner was overcooked.
Besides that we ordered "Kiymali Pide", ground beef Pide with onion, tomatoes and herbs. It was amazing. And also the "Sucuklu kasarli", Turkish sausage and mozzarella cheese was divine. I do recommend it!
Finally we got "Kunefe" for dessert. It was just right. They offered us two cup of tea. It was good to have after the Kunefe. We really enjoyed the place and definitely we will...
Read moreThis small, family-run business will win you over with food and service that far exceeds it's strip mall exterior. The sign on the outside reads "Doner" and makes no reference to the name listed in Google. The interior is basic, but very clean and you get to watch Turkish music videos while you eat. This is a plus in my books, as I was definitely entertained.
We ordered a few dishes. The lentil soup tasted like your Turkish best friend's mom made soup for you both after school - warm, comforting, familiar and lighter than I had expected. It's served with warm, pillowy soft bread (like pita) that makes you "mmmmmm" after just one bite. I highly recommend.
For our main, we shared the platter for two - which is a literal feast-o-meat. It was exceptionally good. LIKE, I MEAN, EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD. It was well seasoned, beautifully cooked, juicy meats - which included kebab, sliced meat (like shwarma), grilled chicken, grilled beef and lamb, grilled veg, served with rice and thin flatbread. If this restaurant was downtown, you would pay double for the food.
I feel like I could write more on this... But, honestly, just go. Go and make your...
