Haven't been to this spot since I was a teenager (years ago) I used to frequent it often with friends and always had a great experience. Wanted my good friend to experience what I once knew to be a great restaurant with great food and service so we decided to dine there a few days ago. We were extremely disappointed with our experience from beginning to end: Not sure if someone called in sick the day I went but there was only 1 staff present to serve an abundance of people who filtered in shortly after we did. We waited patiently for our server to arrive and take our order and when she finally did arrive we felt pressured to rush ordering our food but we had questions about the menu ...she gave us short answers and hurried off. There was no warmth or friendliness in the way she served us. During the 20 minutes that we waited for our food, not once did she come by to check on us to see if we would like refills -or anything- while we continued to wait for our food. When the food finally did arrive, we realized it was moderately warm...as though the food had been sitting around for a bit. We were so hungry at this point we ate everything. Food was okay but definitely not "fresh off the press". We also noticed that said server was often on her phone when she could have been tending to the customers that were already in the restaurant also waiting long periods for their meals. It was abundantly obvious she was much more pleasant to those customers that appeared to "regular" patrons. Every customer should be treated with warmth, caring and friendliness -unfortunately this server did not display those qualities with us. A very unpleasant, unprofessional experience all around. Very disappointed, will not go back, do not recommend. I suggest the owner look into educating their servers on how to display professional, friendly customer service - you would think that is a commen sense trait in this industry but...
Read moreMy in law family talks about this restaurant all the time and my partner wanted our son and me to experience something he used to experience with his late grandfather. I was excited since I’ve been wanting to try it since he’s been telling me, the minute we got there, we were warned by my mother in law & niece about our waitress attitude, I understand being the only waitress is overwhelming but I’ve never been so in welcomed at a restaurant in my life and being indigenous, it happens a lot but this experience was obviously not racism just overwhelming but no matter how much you have to keep up, you don’t take it out on what looked like your biggest table at the moment. As I was done making my order, I was about to order my sons single pancake and she disregarded my son & my niece and her friend mentioned the look she had when she had to go back to me to simply write down a single pancake. We were still waiting for refills after getting our food, despite being by the cash and trying to get her attention that seemed to just be ignored by her - that I ended up sharing my drink with my niece. The food was good but after a half hour, my partner and I started not to feel good and as we mentioned that, my niece spoke up and started talking about how her bacon didn’t taste right. We didn’t want to assume anything right away since we aren’t early morning breakfast eaters so we went on with our day. This was Tuesday the 1st, the next day wasn’t feeling the greatest but didn’t think anything of it until Thursday morning when I had to go to the hospital and now I’m hit with a bacteria infection from food poisoning. I’m hoping it’s not from the restaurant as I would like to come back and hope for a better experience but cant guarantee when that will be I’ve never experience food poisoning...
Read moreAlthough I've had good experiences with this place I must say I had a terrible one today. The service was probably the worst I've ever had......anywhere. I've never seen this server working here before so hopefully she will be gone when I go back. She was rude from the moment I walked in and it only got worse. So bad I had to leave my breakfast uneaten....go to the back to speak with the cook and let them know about what was going on. Although they seemed nice, they didn't really seem to care. I will try and go back here as I really like this place but if she is working I will turn around and go elsewhere. Teds is a staple in our community and it would be sad to see it go to the dumps because of terrible service.
Update: I tried to give it another chance today. Went in for a mid afternoon breakfast and it was thankfully not busy at all so I was positive I would get decent service. WRONG! It was a bit of a wait to get service but whatever I was still feeling positive. Got a coffee and then that’s where it ended. I waited 10 minutes in an empty diner hoping the waitress would come back and take my order. Nope. When I left and paid for my coffee I mentioned I was hoping to eat but I think I was forgotten about. She was rude and told me to flag her down next time? My menu is closed on my table for 10 minutes in an empty diner. Maybe ask me? I don’t get t with this place. Could be such a winner but always seems to...
