We had dinner last night. After being seated, we waited upwards of 5 minutes for the waiter to ask if we would like water. I said yes please, with ice. 2 glasses showed up with a tepid bottle of tap water tasting of chlorine. I asked again for ice....he took our drink and food order. After making the beer and pressing the grapes, it showed up and again, I said some ice would be nice. The pizza showed up and then a glass of ice was brought with an apology for the delay. Apparently the ice is made to order.

I had the mushroom pizza. There was a pool of water from the mushrooms. It was quite tasty but the crust was soggy. I mean wet! My daughter's pizza was the sausage and also wet..

When done, we asked for the bill. The waiter went away and 5 minutes later we saw him clearing tables. Again we asked for the bill and got it

The patio was full, but everyone had gotten their food, so there was no apparent reason for the lack of service. Some training might be in order? And paper towels for...

The barista that was helping me was so so unkind and unfriendly. I’ve never had a bad experience at a coffee shop and I’ve been to several. I ordered a cold brew which is almost impossible to mess up but still somehow was horrible. I kindly asked the barista if it was possible to get a different drink like an americano. The barista replied with “yes” and proceeded to take the cold brew and spill it out. Once she was done with my drink she said “here’s your total” and I asked what was I paying again for? She said, for the labour since I’m making you a second drink which I thought was completely absurd. I told her I wanted a refund for the cold brew and I’d pay for the americano; she refused and instead re-made me the cold brew and told me there was nothing she could do about it. I was treated so poorly, and so unneighbourly. I thought I’d help support a local business but this was not a delightful experience and I will not be returning, along with my family members...

This used to be my local but nearly everything about it has been in steady decline at the expense of customers for the last few years. They've raised prices, trimmed their hours, nixed their cozy fireplace seating area and have stopped hiring friendly baristas. The staff here circa 2020 and before used to be legendarily friendly and personable - now of that crew only the manager is a pleasant and welcoming face. The other counter staff and baristas are standoffish and curt. Used to be open till 7pm, now they shutter at 5pm. Their prices have also gone up and their espresso drinks are among the most expensive in the neighbourhood. It's a shame, because until very recently there wasn't much 'third wave coffee' competition in the neighbourhood with a nice atmosphere but thankfully that is changing. The remaining location of Good Neighbour is no longer something special the way...

This cafe is every hipster's dream! Super cool interior with a post-industrial/slightly minimalistic vibe and interesting art. I tried their almond croissant and pumpkin spice latte - soooo good! and there are two washrooms not one! I was there weekday before lunch time, and I was able to find a place to sit (sometimes quite a challenge in such chill places) and not all tables were occupied by laptops lol. I will come back again for sure!

Pros: Excellent location. They have a great outdoor patio and an amazing selection of baked goods. Cons: Unfortunately, the experience at the counter is consistently meh. The labour shortage is real. Maybe the folks who work there are overtired? We rarely feel welcome. My friends have renamed this place: "The Gumpy Neighbour Espresso Bar." Pricey with an oat cortado at $6.31 (before tip).

Had this for the first time on one of our cycling adventures and this first impression will last a long time!! Had a croissant, banana loaf and a square danish type of pastry that had a raspberry center topped with pistachios. All three were excellent! All three were scrumptious! All three will be bought and consumed again..and again..and again! Thanks my Good Neighbour
