During my recent visit to The Nanglo, I had a mixed experience that left room for improvement. The chicken momo was decent but didn't particularly stand out in terms of flavor. It was satisfactory but lacked the depth I expected. Unfortunately, the veg momo was disappointing. It had an overwhelming amount of cabbage and very little paneer stuffing. This imbalance affected the overall taste and quality. A better proportion of ingredients would enhance the dish significantly. On the brighter side, the chicken lollipop was a highlight of the meal. It was delicious, with a perfect blend of spices, though the presentation was rather underwhelming and could be improved to match the taste. Moving on to the main course, both the fried chicken rice and chicken manchurian gravy were very good. The fried chicken rice was flavorful and well-cooked, while the chicken manchurian gravy had a rich, savory taste that complemented the rice beautifully. These dishes were definitely the standout items of the evening. However, the service was a bit slow, which affected the overall dining experience. Despite this, our server was very friendly and attentive, ensuring we were comfortable and addressing our needs promptly. The restaurant could benefit from having more servers to reduce wait times and improve the efficiency of service. Being a Nepali restaurant, I expected their Nepali dishes to be the highlight, but surprisingly, their Hakka cuisine was more impressive. This was unexpected, and while the Hakka dishes were enjoyable, I would love to see improvements in their traditional Nepali offerings to better represent their culinary heritage. Overall, there were some clear pros and cons. The chicken lollipop was delicious, and the fried chicken rice and chicken manchurian gravy were excellent. The service, though slow, was friendly and attentive. However, the veg momo was disappointing, the chicken momo was average, and the presentation of dishes could use some improvement. I hope to see enhancements in both the wait time and food quality on my next visit. With a few adjustments, The Nanglo has the potential to provide an exceptional dining experience.

My family recently went to a charming Nepalese and Hakka restaurant in Scarborough The Nanglo, and I must say, it was an incredible experience! Dishes you must try Schezwan Lollipop: The Schezwan Lollipop was a perfect blend of spicy and savory flavors, cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and tender meat inside. Jhol Momo: The Jhol Momo was a delightful dish, with dumplings immersed in a flavorful broth that had a perfect balance of spices and richness. Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a beautiful picture station, ideal for capturing Instagram-worthy photos. The decor is stunning, with elements that vividly evoke the essence of Nepal, making it a memorable experience. The presence of a liquor bar adds to the charm, offering a great selection of drinks to complement the meal. Whether you are looking to enjoy a delicious meal or capture some beautiful memories, this restaurant in Scarborough is a must-visit.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Nanglo in Toronto, and it was an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel at home. The staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to explain the menu, which was filled with authentic Nepalese dishes. I ordered the momos, and they were absolutely delicious perfectly steamed with a flavorful filling and a dipping sauce that had just the right amount of spice. The dal bhat was another highlight, with rich lentil soup, fragrant rice, and well-seasoned vegetables that brought out the true flavors of Nepal. The portion sizes were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy genuine Nepalese flavors in Toronto, The Nanglo is a must-visit! I will definitely be coming back !!

My friends were visiting from Alberta, and we decided to try something new—Nepali cuisine. I’m so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the music and ambience transported us straight to Nepal. And then came the food—an experience that exceeded expectations.

What We Tried: • Sandeko Sausages – Two per plate, well-spiced and flavorful, though not mind-blowing. (3/5) • Chicken Lollipop – A classic done right—crispy, juicy, and satisfying. (4/5) • Delhi Momos – Steamed momos served with an incredible creamy sauce. The sauce was the star! (5/5) • Rice Wine – Not a fan of the consistency or smell, though the taste was somewhat like wine. (2/5) • Thakali Thali – We ordered it with chicken and mutton on the side. It felt so comforting and homely. The ghee pour was generous, and surprisingly, the bitter gourd was the standout—absolutely delicious.

Vegetarian Dishes: • Veg Hakka Noodles – Tasted just like authentic street-style noodles—packed with flavor. (4/5) • Sadeko Momo – Spicy and packed with masala, offering a unique and bold taste. (4/5)

Highlight of the Experience:

The best part wasn’t just the food—it was the owner personally coming over to chat with us. It was heartwarming and added a personal touch to the meal. I loved how the cuisine carried familiar Indian flavors yet had its own distinct character.

Will definitely...

Hey, this place is truly beautiful, foods great, servers are nice to give positive, Nepali vibe. But when it comes to order and get your food this place is garbage. I live nearby of nanglo restaurant, like a 5mins walk. Hami sathi haru group ma always go there to eat, kholeko 1week dekhi nai gaira hunxam tara ahile samma time ma food vane kahile paiyena. The average wait time is 1 hour, aru ta kurai xodim ajha ni 1:30hr wait garayo khana set ko lagi. She said like 15mins, we agreed okay, 15 vannu vako xa 15 ko 45min vayeni we can manage, dinner paxi kam ma jana parne tiyo so estimate garera basem. Tara 1:30hr samma kurayero xaina order. Hamro chai time ko value xaina ra?
