What a disappointment. What you see on the website is not what you'll experience. Since I've never seen a Burlesque show, I thought it would be a great venue for my birthday! Shocker!!!! My friends and I showed up around 9pm because the website said the show would start at 10pm, so we thought we would eat there first before the show; however, grilled cheese sandwiches and nachos didn't cut it for us so we let that go. At 11 pm, we were still waiting for The Burlesque show to happen. We saw what appeared to be ONE Burlesque person at the bar saucing it up but made no move to entertain. The night ended early for us because The Painted Lady didn't produce what was advertised. Truly, truly a disappointment. Oh, and the bathroom was too disgusting to use so be prepared to "hold". Then to top it all off, I received a response justifying why The Painted Lady is a great place to go to and literally invalidating my claim of a bad experience of their hole in the wall. It was during the daytime so there were only two customers in there. I ordered two Beau's IPAs. They were perfect for the weather. I sat outside on the street as I read one of my new books.
I wanted to come back around in the evening but didn't have time. Next time we are in Toronto, I...

They obviously encounter this a lot, because I got a rehearsed speech from the bartender, and a response to a review from "management" on trip advisor says the same thing.
You can call your artform whatever you like, but if your missing the key elements of what makes a specific type of dance, a dance, don't degrade those who actually know how to do it with your poor interpretation. I was very disappointed this was misrepresentated.
However, the actual bar was decent and the servers were very nice. Just dont waste your time if you want real high quality burlesque, not amateur...
