I didn't have a good experience here. I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from them last May and before doing so asked for confirmation that they would for sure arrive in August with enough time for the girls to do alterations. They assured me that they would and also made it seem like alterations would be affordable and quick. I wanted my MOH to be the point person for this but for some reason they literally wouldn't respond to her calls or emails....only mine? They also insisted that I put the total cost for all 5 dresses on my card instead of allowing them to pay for their dresses individually which is fine but I found that to be very odd.
Fast forward to mid August the dresses still haven't arrived and the wedding is labour day weekend. They were not very respectful or accommodating about this. They basically acted like they didn't care and would only respond to me after I emailed more than once checking in (after the original guaranteed delivery date had come and gone) . When they finally arrived with 9 days before the wedding instead of trusting them to ship them to my house after how unreliable they had already been, even though I had a million and one other wedding things to do I had to drive down there in the middle of the work day to pick them up. It is just not what you need or want to go through 9 day before the wedding.
On top of that, all of the alteration places they "work with" had a three week turn around for simply taking up the hem. My bridesmaids ended up having to pay $150 each for express fast turn around alterations on these dresses. Again, would have appreciated honesty around this as every dress needed to be shortened and Danielle told me it "would be like $20".
It was honestly not a good experience essentially after I paid for the dresses. They were nice before but once I paid it was like they didn't care and offered zero sympathy for the stress and anxiety caused. If 4 months wasn't enough time I would have appreciated some honesty so that I could have either ordered different dresses or gotten ones that were already in Toronto. Granted I don't know what it is like to get a wedding dress from them but if you're going to order bridesmaid dresses I would either go somewhere else or make sure you order them 6 months in advance.
I never gave this feedback to them directly because I just didn't want to get into an argument or focus on negativity before my wedding but I'm writing this so that if someone else is in the same position as me at least they have some more information about what their customer service was like for...
Read moreBeautiful shop - I got my wedding dress here and had a great experience, though they also have retail in the front. Make sure to book ahead. I didn't feel pressured unlike some other stores and the service was very friendly. They send you your favourites from your appointment via email so you have them handy if needed. When it came time to purchase, they were extremely helpful in picking the right size to order based on my measurements. I've heard horror stories of other shops that recommend too small, meaning come time for alterations you have to pay extra to make it bigger, which did not happen here as they explained that you should always size up. They also shared a list of recommended seamstresses via email after purchase.
While they didn't have as large of a selection as some other stores, they still had a wide variety of styles within the labels they offered and they had the exact style of dress I was seeking (silk slip dress accented with subtle details). I ended up purchasing items from A La Robe, Prea James, and Ofrenda Studio (veil).
Brides also get a discount on future purchases in their store for a year, which can be applied for things like your veil or other accessories, or simply regular retail items in the store.
The only callout I have is to pay extra attention to lead times needed to order and receive your item(s). While I ordered my dress with a comfortable lead time (March for a late October wedding), I had some trouble when I returned to look at accessories in May. I had an appointment booked for a trunk show to choose a veil, but ended up deciding to also purchase a blouse from another label. I called in advance asking whether I needed to come in sooner to order the blouse, but was told that it was not necessary. I end up ordering both the veil and blouse during that existing appointment, but a few days later LL calls me to say that the timing on the blouse is tight and that they'd recommend paying for a rush upgrade (although the decision was ultimately mine). I chose to pay for it, and didn't have any issues with receiving this or any other item on time (in fact the blouse came a bit earlier than quoted in the rush timeline), but I wish they would have told me when I asked as I would have been happy to come in earlier for a separate appointment if needed. All in all, a minor mishap in an overall positive...
Read moreIf you’re a down to earth, relaxed, edgy or bohemian bride who knows they aren’t looking for a traditional ball gown or wedding dress, you need to go to LL. Loversland has got it all, and I MEAN EVERYTHING!
I will admit, I had been to the store before I made my first appointment, before I even got engaged. One day after lunch at Libretto my friends and I stumbled into the shop, pleading to just have a look in the Haven at all the gorgeous gowns. The LL girls actually let us browse for a few minutes between bridal appointments! I knew right then after looking at all their stunning one of a kind gowns - this is the place I will buy my wedding dress. I was right! They have an amazing range of dresses for every different kind of girl and the shop is curated with only the best items.
After getting engaged I made a few other appointments at other salons to get into the feel of being in a wedding dress, but nothing compares to Loversland. They make you feel at home immediately upon entering the store. Celeste listened to my requests diligently, but also made incredibly helpful suggestions and she ended up picking up the gown that I chose in the end as my dress! These consultants know what their doing and how to dress different body types in order to make you feel the best you ever have. I honestly don’t have enough kind words to say about my experience trying dresses on. I shopped around a lot and nothing felt as good as the gown that Celeste picked for me.
The team here goes beyond to make you feel so special, they have an amazing selection of bridal accessories including veils, headpieces, jewelry, and lingerie to make you look bridal ready in your appointment, and help you finalize your bridal look to make your special day look cohesive and incredible.
My bridesmaids dresses are also from two birds and they are incredible. I did mixed colours and the tones turned out so beautiful, I cannot wait to see how they look in photographs on my wedding day. I picked up my dress yesterday and the team is going to alter me the perfect veil of my dreams, and I cannot be more thrilled about the experience. I cannot say enough good things about this store - 10/10!
Thank you...
