Tim Hortons — Restaurant in Toronto

This is probably one of the most upsetting locations I've been to and I truly regret going here. The staff taking my order looked too busy to be listening to what I was saying and even left the counter briefly without excusing herself as I was talking. I ordered half a dozen donuts and specifically said DREAM donuts which I know costs more than the regular ones and she said "yes". I was waiting for her to ask me which donuts I want in the box, standing in front of the display, but she leaves and another staff does it. I said the 2 flavors I want but then the staff who originally took my order appears again and says I can only choose regular ones because DREAM donuts price is different. Uhmmm okay?? I remained calm and firmly told her she said "yes" earlier when she took the order taking it as a sign that she got it. I just said I'll pay the remaining balance so I can get the ones I want to end a rather upsetting moment. The lady who assembled the donuts handed over the box to me which was unstable/uneven 'coz she fit it all in there, I don't mind that, but how about put some tape in it so it is intact? I then ask if I can have a paperbag (you know the ones that come when you order in uber eats) 'coz it's to go and I also have a couple of iced capps to go which I can't carry all as I had some other heavy shopping bag on my other arm. She says they don't have that. (crying emoji here). At that point, I just thought about carrying everything the best I can and hurry out of that store because what kind of experience was that??

One more thing, why is it that Tim Hortons in general does not provide gloves or even kitchen tongs because every time I order pastries, they just use a piece of paper and get it with their bare hands? :( I find it gross and unsanitary 'coz who knows what else they touched before that?

15 June 2024, came in for a quick coffee as I work near by. Huge line up, one person behind the counter. I say to her do you guys not notice the huge line up, why don't you get someone from the back to come out and help. She actually went to the back, she came out with the older woman with the glasses. The one with the glasses is yelling at her "you don't worry about me, look after your work don't tell me what I need to do". Then looks at me says what can I get you, I'm telling her about my coffee, as I'm talking she turns to the other employee and continues to yell at her. I'm trying to talk to her, she's yelling, so I tapped my card on the germ shield they have in front of the register. Well that shield is not secured down, so when I tapped it, it shook, she got pissed at me yelled at me why I "HIT" the shield and told me that's it you're done and refused to serve me. Then the Baker told me you shouldn't hit it. A misunderstanding. But, the attitude and unprofessionalism of this woman, to yell at a fellow co-worker in from of a line up of customers....wow. needless to say that's the last time I'm stepping a foot in here, but I will urge everybody to go and check this place out for themselves. It's dirty and I mean filthy, homeless people sleeping inside, people doing drugs right outside the front doors. Clown show. BTW, about two weeks ago I ordered a farmer's wrap, I asked the lady for some extra sauce, she froze not sure what to do or whatever, I told her I'll pay for it no problem. She started talking to that same lady with the glasses in their language, and I repeated I'll pay for it. They both gave me this look of utter confusion. Every Sunday when I visit this coffee shop, I am confronted with a distressing situation. A group of men shamelessly sell medications, including Advil and vitamin supplements, right within the café premises. They brazenly place their boxes on the floor near the café entrance or even leave medication boxes on their own tables, actively targeting elderly customers who frequent the establishment. This blatant disregard for respect and customer safety is deeply concerning.

First and foremost, it is truly baffling how these individuals manage to sell smuggled medications right under the nose of the café staff and management. It raises serious questions about the effectiveness of the establishment's security measures and staff supervision. It is alarming that such illegal activities are allowed to persist within the premises of Tim Hortons.

Equally troubling is the apparent lack of action or reporting by any Tim Hortons manager regarding this ongoing issue. It is disheartening to witness this lack of accountability and responsibility. Customers should feel safe and protected when visiting a well-known establishment like Tim Hortons, and this situation clearly falls short of those expectations.

As a loyal customer, I believe it is crucial for Tim Hortons to address this matter promptly and take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their patrons. I strongly urge the management to investigate this issue thoroughly, strengthen security protocols, and actively engage with law enforcement to deter such illicit activities from taking place on their premises.

Unfortunately, until I see significant improvements in how Tim Hortons handles and rectifies this situation, I cannot recommend this café to others.
