There is a sign by the cashier area that lists all of the toppings and add-ons, including bacon for $2.50.
I asked for this particular combo and wanted to add bacon, as well as to upsize the fries, but OHHH NOOO. If I wanted to do that they would charge me for a regular bacon cheeseburger combo and an extra order of fries. And the new price? $16.48 plus tax ($18.62 with tax)!!!!!
I didn't want or need a whole extra order of fries, and what happened to the $2.50 for the bacon as an add-on???
This pricing is horrific. $6.50 extra - really??? Just for bacon and a larger portion of fries??? Won't be coming here again.
April 18/19 Passing by one day, I stopped to peek in the window just to see how a place called Grillies would look on the inside. Seemed inviting enough....
Walked in, scanned the menu, finally deciding on a beef burrito. Who would've known there would be so many topping options! Corn, beans, greens, tomatoes, onions, sauces....and spicy stuff, too!!!
When I saw the finished product I had to ask to have it cut in half otherwise it wouldn't have fit in my mouth but WOULD have made a big mess!
Was it good? You bet!
P.S. make sure you check out the daily specials
July 27/19 The restaurant is undergoing a bit of an internal rejuvenation, but they're still open for business, still offering good quality good food at good prices! Had the homemade cheeseburger combo (came with fries and drink) and I added bacon and a side of gravy - 😋😋😋!!!
August 11, 2019 Today is Sunday, and the Sunday special is fish (sea bass). Tried the burrito and loaded it with lettuce, tomato, onion, black olives, hot peppers, corn and rice, spicy mayo, chipotle sauce, hot sauce and spicy salsa. Combo came with fries and a drink, and I added a side of...
Read moreI recently visited Grillies and had the pleasure of trying their bacon, eggs, and cheese sandwich (flat) as well as their French toast. I must say, my breakfast experience was nothing short of amazing.
Let's start with the bacon, eggs, and cheese sandwich. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the combination of crispy bacon, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese was heavenly. It was evident that Grillies takes pride in using high-quality ingredients, as the flavors were rich and satisfying.
The French toast at Grillies was another standout dish. The toast was perfectly cooked, with a golden exterior and a warm, soft center. Each bite was filled with delightful hints of cinnamon and vanilla, enhancing the overall taste. The maple syrup served alongside the French toast was authentic and added a delightful sweetness that complemented the dish perfectly.
One aspect that made my experience even more enjoyable was the price. The fact that our breakfast was half off made it an incredible value for the quality of food we received. Grillies' commitment to providing excellent food at an affordable price is truly commendable.
The staff at Grillies were friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, contributing to the overall pleasant dining experience.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Grillies for a delightful breakfast experience. The bacon, eggs, and cheese sandwich (flat) and the French toast were both outstanding. The authentic maple syrup, phenomenal taste, and affordable price make Grillies a must-visit destination for...
Read moreFor the only late-night 24hr joint on the block, all anyone really wants is something fast, cheap, and edible. Grillies barely manages one out of those three - the food is at least edible.
I've gone to this place a number of times, and while its not the cheapest, the food most of the time is ok, passable. But never, and I mean NEVER, have I waited for less than 15 minutes for anything I've ordered, even a single cheeseburger. I was under the impression that cheeseburgers existed on the principle that they take no more than 4 minutes to make from beginning to end. How on earth it could possibly take longer than that, especially when I am the only customer in the restaurant, is beyond me.
Last night, I ordered a double cheeseburger and a poutine and it took 25 minutes to get. Mind you, this was not a 25 minutes from when I walked in the door or the last time I checked my phone, this was 25 full minutes of me sitting on a greasy Ikea chair at 3 in the morning, wondering if I should sneak back behind the counter and make it myself.
Now, all of that might have been excusable, if the cheeseburger had been really good, or if the fries had been hand cut or something, but it legitimately was the most average cheeseburger and poutine of all time. Better than McDonald's, but not by much, and nowhere close to being worth the wait. I'd love to patronize the local late-night spot near me, but every time I go, it's the same story and I'd rather just get A&W and...
