The Wyck Recommendation: Timothy’s Pub Rating: TBD (Food & Drink Review Coming Soon) Tall Tales and Ten-Dollar Turnarounds
Intro Scene We ducked into Timothy’s in search of live music and maybe a pint. What we found was a cryptic bouncer-energy giraffe of a man who told us, “Yeah, it’s ten bucks,” with all the enthusiasm of a tax audit.
What Was Ordered Nada. Not a drop, not a bite. The only thing on the menu was confusion and a mandatory $10 cover fee—tacked onto your tab, he said, like it was a tip for breathing.
Service Commentary Still unsure if that tall guy even worked there or just moonlights as an NPC gatekeeper for confused newcomers. Zero acknowledgment from staff otherwise, just an awkward paywall vibe at the front.
Vibe Check It was packed with the 50+ crowd—think "boomer prom" meets Friday night bingo. Loud live music was in full swing, but not exactly our tempo.
The Space Itself Didn’t make it past the threshold, but from the door it looked like your average pub-turned-venue: dark wood, beer signs, and a wall of bodies rocking politely in orthopedic footwear.
About the Neighborhood Lakeshore West—prime Etobicoke territory. Easy to miss unless you’re looking for it. Street parking roulette, per usual.
Hits & Misses ✓ Live music happening, so if you’re into that scene, it delivers ✗ $10 cover just to enter, no pre-warning or signage ✗ Staff (or non-staff?) vibe unclear and off-putting ✗ No greeting or explanation unless prompted
Final Verdict We came for tunes, stayed for confusion, and left before paying for the privilege. Might circle back for food and drinks, but next time I want to pay $10 for the privilege of standing, I’ll go to an airport lounge.
Rating: TBD

Read moreMy wife and I wanted to spend Saturday evening, 2nd Feb, 2024, at this venue, mainly because of the band: The Orangeman, and we had also planned, to have drinks and snacks. My wife called the management, at approximately 4:00 pm, and was informed that the place was full, but that my wife and I would be granted "standing room."
We drove about 35 minutes, to Timothy's Pub, had difficulty finding parking, approached the entrance and were informed that we could not enter this pub, because the pub was full.
My wife informed the guy at the entrance, about the call at 4:00pm and he acknowledged the content of the call, but added, "I am sorry... the place is full." We reminded this person about the call, and he again said, "I am sorry... the place is full." This is an example of bad Customer Service. So... we were disappointed and left.
A point worth mentioning, is that the word "sorry," means nothing, unless you can back it up, by some positive action, in favour of the person, who has been disappointed, because of failure to honour one's commitment. This is a point that all business people should...
Read moreAs a big fan of wings, and being in the area today I had to give this place a try based on the reviews. I grabbed a bunch of flavours for takeout, and upon starting to eat them I noticed they seemed a bit dry and the chicken seemed to have been over cooked in the fryer. Most places I’d just chalk it up to mediocre wings but I knew something was off based on reviews. So I gave them a call and explained my concerns, to which they dealt with the upmost professionalism and agreed that the chicken shouldn’t be that dry. They made me a fresh batch of wings, and am I ever glad I let them know. This next batch of wings I got was the difference between some of the best wings in the city, compared to the first batch which was very underwhelming.
To anyone looking for wings in the area, this is the spot. On top of that, exceptional customer service that went above and beyond in an industry that seems to be forgetting the importance of service. I’m glad I voiced my concerns to them rather than running to write a review before giving them an opportunity to rectify situation to which they...
