As a Turkish woman living in Toronto, I’ve been searching for authentic çiğ köfte that tastes like home — and this is it. We are regulars, both at the shop and through delivery to our downtown home. Even with the delivery fee, we keep coming back because the taste is simply unmatched.
We visited the Toronto Çiğ Köfte location again today and tried their grilled wraps with both bazlama and somun bread — absolutely delicious! Sahra Hanım, who was working during our visit, is incredibly kind, professional, and warm. The place is spotless and beautifully run. Knowing that it’s a woman-owned business makes it even more special and inspiring.
I’ve also tried their stuffed grape leaves (sarma), stuffed peppers (dolma), and frozen mantı (Turkish dumplings) — all excellent. Their market section has a surprising variety of Turkish products too.
If you’re in Toronto, don’t miss it. And if you’re not nearby — find a way to get there. Whether you’re Turkish, Canadian, or simply a food lover, you’ll find some of the most delicious flavors right here.
Highly, highly...
Read moreHave been hearing about Cig Kofte for a few years now and nothing available in the west end of the GTA. Happened to be working in this area and had to stop by and try this unique dish out. The dish itself was decent, fantastic portion and good value, the flavor and texture is new to me and didn't know what to expect, but I can see how this could be an acquired taste. However the service was beyond spectacular.
Seemed like a family run store. Everyone was extremely polite, friendly and full of information. Good advise on local Turkish restaurants and foods. You can tell that they are passionate about what they do and their foods and culture.
Ended up buying a variety of different Sujuk's and cant wait to go back to stock up on more Turkish goodies.
Little independent family run gems are like these are what brings colors and characters our society. Wish the team all...
Read moreThe çiğ köfte (Turkish-style raw meatballs) was not bad, even though it was made by machine. Especially when I compare it with the çiğ köfte I tasted elsewhere and was disappointed with, the çiğ köfte here was really successful. As a place, it needs modesty in terms of price policy and consistency. The dessert on the menu was also worth trying. It was well-cooked and crispy. However, a little more attention could have been paid to its syrup and dough. Still, it had a generally satisfying flavor. The price was around $2.5, which I don't think is a reasonable price. The atmosphere of the place was quite relaxing and enjoyable. The staff was also friendly and helpful. By the way, the dessert and çiğ köfte in the picture were taken from there, not the...
