A lot bigger than it looks! Have lived not too far for my entire life and can’t believe just recently noticed the signage when driving by. Upon entering, the restaurant expands and is pretty spacious. Interior decor a bit dated — but it’s clean, and we are there for the food! Classic diner fare. Reliable goodness and reasonably priced. (maybe with the exception of $2.09 for a side of gravy) Both our server Angela as well as the hostess that seated us were super friendly. Always smiling and made me feel welcome. I am surprised at the number of reviews pointing out crusty staff. To my knowledge, there appeared no accessible washroom. But the place has been around a long while—so likely built before any codes were required to accommodate. Long steep staircase to basement restroom. Will gladly return to try some other menu items!

Valley Fields is like a neighbourhood joint that's run by staff that's known each other for a long time. The waitstaff was efficient but friendly, and they spoke like family to each other. The decor was very outdated. The food was mediocre. I ordered the Farmers Breakfast with sausage, home fries, gravy and cheese. Almost like a breakfast poutine, with scrambled eggs on top. It was seriously bland, even with the gravy, cheese and sausage. Not sure how they managed that. The home fries were mushy and overcooked. The gravy had no flavour. The sausage tasted frozen. And the coffee was just okay. Kind of disappointed with the high rating of this place. However, I can understand it. Neighbourhood holes gain a lot of loyalty, even if the food is bad.

I've been here a few times and the service is always nice, courteous and punctual. The food is basic and portions generous. Recently I had the Eggs Benedict with peameal bacon. Over half the plate was home fries with no vegetables or fruit offering. The Eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise sauce was creamy and flavourful and the English Muffins were toasted well. All in all it was good. The potatoes were really basic, some of them were not cooked well enough and others were burnt. No real effort was made to make the potatoes taste other than bland potato flavor. For something that takes up more than half the plate it should be really good.

We go here all the time as a family. In fact, it's my daughter's favourite place to go for brunch and I, myself, can't get enough of their saganaki (a Greek dish of flaming cheese). Aside from the generous portions of tasty food, the surface area of the tables makes it a very comfortable brunch spot for anyone over 6 feet or of a wider berth - a welcome change from the usual brunch spots that try to cram as many patrons as possible into a given space. The kids menu (ages 10 and under) also has liberal portions and I doubt anyone, young or old, ever leaves this place still hungry. Bathrooms are kept clean and well-stocked but they are in the basement which is fine for us but could potentially be problematic for someone with mobility issues. Sometimes there's a line up for a table but the smiling faces should be indication enough that the wait is worth it. It certainly is. We'll continue to come here for as long as the establishment is...

Angela, the Waitress and Server did an excellent job with her customer service skills. Angela was welcoming, efficient, quick, polite, and friendly. I had one of the all day Breakfast with Peameal Bacon and 3 Eggs, Home Fries, and Coffee. The meal was fresh and tasted delicious. Angela always comes around with the Coffee Pot to refill frequently and this is wonderful. Valley Fields always serves fresh and delicious meals. I really enjoy the atmosphere here. Steve, The Owner is a great, friendly and wonderful person and easy to talk with. He also prepares and cooks the food and meals with his staff members. This Valley Fields Restaurant is one of the best places to eat. Thank you very much Angela, Steve, and Staff for your great services. Have a wonderful day and take care.

Cheers,...
