Hands down THE BEST TAIWANESE FOOD I've ever had in Toronto! I went to college in LA and they had A LOT of amazing Taiwanese food over there. I was completely spoiled. After I moved to Toronto, I tried so many so-called Taiwanese restaurants but all are pretty disappointing. Until a few years ago I moved to Scarborough and found Wei's. Their food brings back the good memories of my younger days. Especially the stinky tofu. It's hard to find this kind of stinky tofu nowadays. Many places only have the other kinds (e.g. black ones, ones with fermented tofu sauces etc). THIS stinky tofu is what I live for since I was a kid. It's the most similar to stinky tofu in Hong Kong. My mom and I can't stop sniffing the tofu, lol, what a ASMR! Their lunchbox combos are also absolutely tasteful. I especially love how they match different side dishes with different boxes. Once I ordered 3 lunchboxes and each of them had different side dishes. It's this kind of details that keep us coming back for more. Oh, and the fried oyster pan cake. My goodness, I've never had one this good since I left LA. Thank you!

Had been craving for Taiwanese food so I jumped on the opportunity when I see one. Perhaps I did not order their speciality … Bento style food seem to be quite popular as I see people coming in and out with they the whole time. I order intestine noodle soup and oyster pancake. Neither one was super nor great. Oyster pancake was not cooked well. Outside not crisp at all and the cracked egg was not flavourful. The suce was good on top but still not a well cooked oyster pancake. Intestine noodle was less than okay….. everything tasted mushy. However, perhaps should had ordered bento as they were large and most people were ordering them at lunch. Finally, it would be a better dining experience if they can clear away the clutter and take out boxes inside the dining area. That does not improve the dining experience either. Overall, I think the cook need to turn up the foam a notch when making pancake and the intestine needs better flavour.

After many years of living in the prairies one thing I always missed was authentic Taiwanese food. After a quick google search knowing we’d be coming to Toronto for the weekend I knew this was a place I had to check out. Even though we had to drive over an hour during rush hour I can say that this place met all expectations and some. We literally sample one of each item and got two orders of the stinky tofu. All I can say is WOW! The food was amazing and reminds me exactly of Taiwan. For anyone visiting this is a must visit even if commuting from downtown to eat here. For all the locals, I envy you for having such an amazing place like this. From now on, whenever we came to Toronto we will be making a visit here.

I have a fond memory of Wei's Taiwanese Foods... lining up in sweltering summer heat at night markets in my teens waiting for their epic stinky tofu, and doing that again year after year until I got to the point I no longer enjoy such crowds.

While I may no longer frequent these night markets, I make sure to order Wei's when we're craving authentic Taiwanese food. There's a sense of nostalgia for me when I taste their popcorn chicken and of course the stinky tofu, but there's also a satisfaction from the taste of home cooking - something I enjoy tremendously. I see some reviews stating they find the food bland, but I found each side dish in my bento and mains to be almost too salty for my liking, and more often than not, seasoned to perfection. I enjoy the ingredients being showcased by their natural tastes and not ridden with sauces and seasonings. The price points are so fair too in today's economy. I find myself wishing I lived closer, but Uber Eats shall do.

There's a weird feeling that few establishments can achieve which is their food being akin to mother's cooking. Now it may not be one mother, if at all (though I do remember the friendly mother and son duo back in my night market outings), but their food tastes like it's made out of love, and I can't be more happy than to continue supporting them. My love affair for this place started in my teens and I'm pretty sure it'd continue for as long as they're in business and cooking their...

Went in today with my husband for lunch. There was a choice of soup or water with the bento box. I chose to go with soup as I can't drink bottled water (gives me stomach aches). My soup never came. Sat for 20 mins to eat. Asked about the soup 3 times. By the 3rd time, the lady in the front gave a very painful look and then went to the back. Then she told me, the cook is busy, and told me to take a water instead. There were other customers after me waiting a long time for the soup as well. In my mind, I just thought the sequence they did things was very unorganized. Also that, the lady has hands too, how come she couldn't go scoop the soup? Especially after a customer asked for it 3 times! I took the water in dissatisfaction and gave it to my husband promising to never come to this restaurant again. My husband still went back up to the counter to wait for the lady to ask for my soup. I dragged him to go as other customers looked on. I've been here 3 times in total, but this was the first time I asked for soup as the other 2 times I took water for safety reasons cause it was takeout (didn't want the soup the spill while I was driving). So summary is, never get soup with the meal. Taste of food is not as good as 1st and 2nd time, not because I was mad. I assume it's a...
