2022 Review: What a treat to be back! It looks nearly the same as we left it 💜
Walked in and was promptly greeted with a smile and a warm greeting. The folks who work here make you feel right at home. Maybe they are the owners? I'd love to know!
We were assisted (upon request) with some menu suggestions. The staff helping us was so very knowledgeable and quickly got our lunch sorted for us. A loaded tuna melt and delicious vegetarian soup...I beleive it was tomato basil...YUM! Oh, we also enjoyed a LONDON FOG...yes, they have the best you'll ever taste (floral and delish) and an apple juice!
We dined outside this time around...they have ample seating along their restaurant, outside where you can enjoy the calm, fresh air!
You could tell that there were clearly regulars there meeting for coffee and just enjoying themselves. Definitely a place to come and meet friends, stay a chat over tea or catch a quick bite.
They have an extensive menu with something for everyone. Sweet treats and tasty drinks!
I'm not sure what draws me here more..the food or the people...both are fantastic!
Keep up the great work, Guy's Cafe! A gem! Truly. Until next time...take care and enjoy that mountain air 💜 Initial Review in 2020: As soon as we walked into this place, we knew it would be good. This place was fairly busy, a good indicator of good food!
Who I gather to be the owner took our order, he used both humour and kindness while taking our order and answering our questions.
They offer food for all dietary restrictions, so it is a good place to go with any group of people.
The prices are very good, seating options are plentiful and the food is delicious!
Even with the seemingly busy cafe, the wait for the food was minimal.
Would definitely...
Read moreI'm at Guys often and its always quick and delicious. The only thing is that the service isn't always great. However its not the staff, its the owner. The last time I was there, the staff made a small mistake like made a to go order to stay. It wasn't a big deal but Guy the owner, yelled at the waiter loudly in front of every other customer. I felt so sorry for the waiter, they looked like they wanted to cry. The worst part is that it seems like this happens all the time. It made everyone in the restaurant uncomfortable. I think Guy goes through a lot of staff because I'm there once a week and I never see someone I recognize in the kitchen working. Thats understandable, I wouldn't want to work in a place where I was yelled at everyday for small mistakes that we all could make. I truly do like Guys cafe and I have been going there for years with friends but if Guy continues to treat his staff like this, I will have to find...
Read moreFirst time I came here it was amazing, but the second time was not as good, just okay. The first sandwich I got was the Montreal smoked meat sandwich - the filling was generous and the flavour was great! (Though the bread was really small so it basically all fell out and turned into a salad). I decided to try something different the second time and so I got the veggie + brie sandwich, also expecting generous veggie fillings for the $14 I paid... Instead it was basically just thick bread, really minimal filling. I don't think the value is the same for these two sandwiches, but they are listed as the exact same price; one sandwich had loads of protein, and the other was a bit lacking. I also got their carrot cake on a separate occasion and it was honestly good, but given the last veggie sandwich experience it might be hit-and-miss, though more generally on the...
