There was literally A BEETLE IN MY SANDWICH. Food was undercooked (and literally hearing people from other tables calling their waitress over to say the same).
Honestly, I am thinking of reporting them to the health authorities. Just as many other people reported, very poor service, poor management, and looks like next to nothing for food safety.
It took almost an hour and a half to get our food. Imagine that with little kids. They did all the games on their paper menus, played the montanas app for at least 15-20 minutes and we even read the coffee news front to back (horoscopes, jokes, you name it). Then the meals came in very disorganized, they missed half of ppls meals and 2 ppl from our group got their food 15 minutes later. We were wanting to go to a movie, so we got there with what we thought was ample time, but unfortunately, we never got to enjoy all-you-can-eat ribs, had to rush.
No toilet paper in the women's washroom. The waitress we had felt the need to tell us (because we were a large group- 4 kids, 4 adults) that splitting the bill would make things complicated. I was a waitress at a busy chain restaurant on Whyte Ave, I couldn't believe my ears when she said that.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST AND MOST DISGUSTING PART:
As I ate my pulled pork sandwich, I noticed the chunks of meat were quite dense and hard with some really fatty pieces in there, not at all "pulled pork". When I started to take the chunks of meat out of my sandwich, there is was, a charred beetle just lying in the bun. I honestly was shocked, that's never happened. Everyone at my table saw it, you could visibly see legs and antennae. I showed the waitress, who apologized profusely and was visibly digusted, but I'm not sure she was as shocked as I was. She offered to bring me another one, to which I declined right away. And since we were late for our movie by this time, I ended up not eating.
I have never had such a horrible experience in my life, I've never written a poor review of any restaurant because I'm in the service industry and understand the challenges but this was overboard. This restaurant needs to be inspected and properly managed. It seems like they've got kids running the place who have no idea what they're doing. If they don't start turning things around soon, I could see it shutting down, which would be unfortunate...
Read moreWhat an absolute gong show of a dinner. When you come at 5pm for dinner with only 2 tables occupied when you come in, you would expect to be eating dinner and done within 30-45 mins. Boy, were we wrong. Took 42 mins to get our spinach dip. Asked for fried pita, we got oily, soft, barely warm “pita chips”. How you can serve “fried pita chips” that was whiter than the napkins are beyond me. These things are golden fried and sometimes overcooked from previous experiences here. Never got asked by our server if everything tasted right or if we needed refills. 30 mins passed when she came to our table to take our plates. Over an hour later our server came to say our food should be coming out soon. With a 15 month old in tow, thank god I pack snacks. Another 22 minutes later, food comes out, the Pitmaster combo was abysmal. With a two hour wait by this point you would think the wait was due to fresh food being made because they ran out. Nope, the brisket was cold, husbands tacos were shrivelled up, plate was super hot but his poutine cheese never melted, like how?! And my sister and her fiancé’s honkin’ beef ribs were also cold.
All of this would have been non-issue if the server would have just came to acknowledge the long wait or to even explain that they were short staffed or if the cooks were new, just anything! But no, she blatantly avoided our table, as well as other patrons who were all looking mindlessly by this point waiting for food. We were shocked how some tables on the bar side who came after us got served. A poor girl who got nothing but a sandwich at another table had her sandwich made wrong and was eating fries to satiate her for waiting even longer. What the hell has happened with this location?! I could keep going but we were exhausted and just wanted to leave. Done with this establishment, no wonder why more and more locations have been shut down in Calgary. This should be the...
Read moreSo much went wrong tonight, and trust me I use to be a server in a very busy restaurant for 5 years so I get it. But still…… we had a bad experience ordering in so we figured we would try to sit in this time. Bad idea. Hot as all hell even on a cooler day. 2.service was slow for how many people they had working in my eyes and for how many tables were seated. Not the servers Fault at all, but they ran out of cheese so after we already gave our nacho order then 20 minutes later than they came back to tell us that there was no cheese for my husband nachos so he had to order again, so of course he couldn’t eat dinner with us as our food arrived earlier then his second round of having to order something different. Still waiting on his food and my daughter and I are almost over halfway done eating so then I just tell them to box it up so we can take it to go so he can eat at home. Wings were horrible. They’re big and chunky and you can tell are not a good brand and previously frozen so there’s just a lot of extra batter on them that just makes it have a bad taste. He couldn’t even eat a second one. My spinach dip was fine but the pita chips you can tell they keep them frozen and then just bake them to heat them up and they had a bad kind of frozen taste to them. OK, great 10% off our order thanks for the five dollars off of tax basically….and a shy apology. I understand that it was a busy weekend and that also just means they don’t have the right people being able to look after inventory to know that they will be running out of items shortly and keeping track of that stuff to inform the servers on.
Anyways I’m sure they have there good nights and their Long Island ice tea’s are great, but the food quality is not good like I once remembered it, so best to stick to more locally owned family restaurants. And no we won’t be back and don’t want to reconnect on our experience….lets...
