I regularly visit this Tim Hortons because it’s only about 100 meters from my house, making it the most convenient option for a quick meal. Unfortunately, despite its proximity, the experience at this location has been consistently frustrating.
The biggest issue is their lack of attention to detail. Orders are frequently incorrect, and the process is chaotic from the start. When placing an order at the drive-thru, you can’t confirm it on the screen because they are showing someone else’s order while you’re speaking. It’s only after you’ve moved past the screen that they seem to process your order. This lack of alignment between what’s on the screen and what’s being prepared results in frequent mistakes. By the time you realize something is wrong, you’ve already driven off. If you catch the mistake right away, you can go back immediately, but if you’re already on the highway and call them, they often accuse you of lying to get free food, which is beyond frustrating.
I want to emphasize: if I can afford to come to Tim Hortons regularly and live in BC, I can certainly afford to pay for my food. The accusation that I’m trying to scam for a free meal is insulting, and the attitude from staff only makes it worse.
This review is particularly directed at one employee who seems to be at the center of many of these problems. He’s a young man, probably in his early 20s, wearing a turban, and most likely an international student. His attitude is awful, and his carelessness is inexcusable. Just this morning, I ordered a jalapeno bagel, double toasted with butter, added lettuce, hash brown, and chipotle sauce. Instead, I received it with tomatoes. I was on my way to work in Abbotsford, so I just removed the tomatoes and continued driving. I called the store to inform them about the mistake, but instead of an apology or an offer to make things right, he told me, “It’s always you who has a problem.” It’s not just me – the reviews for this location are filled with complaints about similar issues.
To make matters worse, just the day before, I asked for a simple bagel with butter. Instead, I was charged for cream cheese and received cream cheese, which I hadn’t even requested. The lettuce they served me was old and wilted, with black edges, showing a complete lack of care in food preparation.
It’s clear that this location is primarily staffed by international students, which in itself isn’t an issue, but the quality of service has deteriorated significantly under their management. I’m Indian myself, so this isn’t about ethnicity – it’s about the shocking decline in service standards at a Canadian institution like Tim Hortons.
As much as I’d like to say I’ll never return, the truth is that this location is the most convenient for me. But something needs to change. Management or the owner must take action to address the ongoing issues here. I’m sure there are more capable and responsible staff members who could be hired to improve the experience for everyone.
Until then, I will continue to reluctantly visit this location, but I’ll always double-check my order before driving off because, clearly, attention to detail is not their...
Read moreYou know the moment that it is cemented in your memory why you stop doing something or going somewhere? Today was that day for me at Tim Hortons and this was the location that did it for me.
It was for me the realization that the quality is poor and overpriced. I ordered an iced coffee and there was a very distinct separation between the water and the cream. Heavy cream was floating above a layer of water. There was no coffee flavor - just heavy cream. I received a drink of iced cream. It was so disgusting and my tummy hurt, I couldn't keep it.
The prices were different (more) than advertised on their screen menus. I pointed it out and they dismissed it as they hadn't updated it yet.
Finally, I had an apple fritter and this will be the last time I will ever go to Tim Hortons for a donut. It was small and dry.
I was originally going to drive to Gourmet Donuts in Walnut Grove and I regretted not doing that.
So, Tim Hortons on 200th and 72nd, you did it for me. I no longer ever desire or crave your donuts and your iced coffees. I won't be returning, to this location, and likely no Tim Hortons again because your donuts aren't good anyway.
Let's face it, if you are going buy coffee, McDonald's has the best hot and iced coffee. If you want a donut, Safeway/Save-On/Krispy Kreme/Gourmet Donuts are all way...
Read moreI have been to this Tim Hortons location many times, however I have never got good service. The staff is terrible and not polite at all. One time I clearly told the lady at the drivethru that I wanted a Vanilla Creamy Chill, however when I pulled up to the window to pay, she handed me an Iced Capp, which was not even remotely close to what I ordered. Then when I told her this is not what I ordered, she said that is what I said. Then she closed the window and started to talk to someone, and after another 10 minutes waiting at the window, I finally got the Vanilla Creamy Chill. Something I noticed at this Tim Hortons is that the staff is not polite at all, not even apologizing for getting my order wrong, or not even saying have a great day or greeting me when I am ready to order. In the summer I would often get Creamy Chills to beat the summer heat, and I always noticed that the sprinkles/ drizzle were never included, even though Tim Hortons advertised with the sprinkles/ drizzle. I dont think it would be too hard to put the sprinkles/drizzle, considering that the sprinkles are the same ones that are on certain doughnuts. Overall, I have never had a good experience with...
