The Ice House — Restaurant in Trent Lakes

Was there yesterday and absolutely WORST experience. Waitress was very short and cut us off ever time we talked. Apparently there was a reservation coming that was coming for turkey dinner. She put us in the back corner (there were 11 of us) where we had to climb over seats to get in. Then she told us we had to order "FAST" so we got our order in before these others arrived. Stood there and rushed us so much to order FAST that I didn't even get to read the whole menu; just picked wings cause it was at the top. Was told no fish for English style fish and chips and there was no snitzel; two things that were requested. Was very rude when we wanted to order another drink as ... it appeared to be a problem. Not everyone was even finished eating when she came and said she wanted to get our bills over with before again ... these other people arrived. She then came back to our table and told us that if each person put in $40 that would cover the bill in one big swoop for her ... are you kidding me !!!! Who does that ? Afterwards we added all our bills together just to see the total and it was approx $25 per person that would cover it ...I'm thinking someone felt they deserved one hell of a tip !! Then at the end she screwed up our bills and asked for someone to come back from the parking lot because she forgot something and also claimed to of not charged another at all ... after they just had paid ! Also, funny enough, she came to our table after we were sitting for awhile and asked one of us if she was with the rest of our table ... ???? Why would she be sitting with us then ????

Have been here before for a drink and always had very awesome and friendly waitress and service, but this waitress was absolutely horrible and was rude from beginning to end and rushed us through the whole process ... because, AGAIN ... "a party of 12 had a reservation and was going to arrive".

Never left a tip at all and I have NEVER done that before. After that experience I think we all deserved out...

Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon. We did not feel welcome from the minute we stepped on the porch. No staff were outside so we went to the wait to be seated sign to talk to someone. (Although we had masks on) we were shooed away from the door and abruptly told "we don't offer indoor dining" I explained we were looking to order take out and the server remarked "okay". I then asked for a couple of menus and a few minutes to take a look at them. the waitress returned to the porch a few minutes later to take our order, at which time I requested two separate orders and bills. The waitress was abrupt and seemed like us ordering food was an inconvenience to her. We asked how long and were told 20 minutes, so we took a walk around town and returned to pick up our food. This time we stood and waited at the bottom of the stairs outside for a few minutes as they didn't notice we were there. Food was brought out and although we specifically asked for two orders/ separate bills we were given it all on one. As soon as the debit machine beeped to say the purchase had gone through the waitress turned around slammed the door and left us standing on the porch wondering what happened. We took our food and returned home to find out we were missing an order of fish and chips, since we felt so unwelcome we did not return or re-order the missing order we simply went without. Food was okay, no complaints there but the service was less then okay.

**edit, thanks for the reply Olde Ice house, it was July 7th around 3pm when we stopped by. We ordered 2 halibut and chip meals, one chicken fingers and fries and a side of onion rings. (we actually ordered three fish and chips but were given only two and charged for two) I completely understand people have bad days, and hope you are able to simply provide the feedback to the person we had the interaction with. I find the comments entirely enjoyable, about the only thing I enjoyed from this place. Sick for a week after I waited for an hour for the worst meal my husband and I ever ordered, didn't even wanna pay for it. Walking by the kitchen and the cook had to be the dirtiest cook I have ever seen my life totally through me off from the start. Long hair dangling over my food. It was a cat or a real big rat I seen her feeding IN THE KITCHEN. The only reason this place remains open is because the health board does not make frequent trips out to Buckorn as it has four food places in the entire... I called with complaints and they said I guess it's time for another inspection and more regular ones I guess after reading the info about dead flies and spider webs and animals in the kitchen. WOW. I haven't nor am I gonna even gonna comment on the food as it is not worth a thought. No kitchen manager clearly. Rotten lettuce and tomatoes on my burger. TIP=ROTTEN OR SPOILED FOOD, GOES IN THE GARBAGE. Would not recommend you go here even if the food was free. I have a better time and safer meal foraging in the woods with my children.. -100 for experience and do they ever need to get a new server and speed up the kitchen... RENT OVER... SICKNESS FROM THE...
