I love Aroma Maya, and this location is usually phenomenal, but the recent hires have left a sour taste in my mouth— especially the older blonde lady, with curly hair in a ponytail and glasses; unsure if she is new or returning after vacation, but, this individual needs to realize that this isn’t McDonalds at Lunch Rush. My fiancé and I were quite literally the only people there at 9am on a Sunday, and yet she was frantic to the point of not even allowing me to get my donut order out (I was going to order 6, but got cut off at 1) before hurriedly asking 'Anything to drink?' followed by a curt 'Is that everything?' when my fiancé hadn’t even gotten HIS order out. This isn’t the first instance in which she rushed us, and makes us feel as though we’re inconveniencing her while she’s supposed to, y’know, do her job and serve customers. It has also been noticeable that she, and another employee with dark hair, become quite irritated when having to scan the rewards app.
Please brief staff in actually allowing a customer to say their full order before jumping down their throat. We felt as though we couldn’t even order breakfast, so we didn’t, and will be bringing our...
Read moreI am positive I've rated the Young Street location (OG) Aroma Maya, but apparently not North Street. What's there to say, this is a company that's going places. Literally! Fantastic coffee, donuts and bagels this shop was my first introduction to coffee and the reason I now love it so much! (It's all your fault! Hehe) I honestly feel like it is my second home. The staff at every location are just so pleasant, the drinks are consistent and the bagels are just to die for. The owner Sergio and his family are the literal sweetest people and never hesitate if they see me in public to say hi. I love supporting local businesses and I especially love to do so when I know my money and energy are going towards good people. I am so happy to have this shop in town and their success brings me so much joy to see new locations pop up around Nova Scotia all the time. I will come here forever....
Read moreA trip to Truro always requires a few stops into Aroma Maya. The staff are always friendly. Once when Little was dancing the barista stopped and said, "I hope you will always dance when you want to." And moments like that stick.
The drinks are wonderful. I love my chai tea latte and have tried some of their specialty drinks. I haven't been disappointed yet.
As for the donuts and bagels. Don't miss the opportunity to try them. Little says their everything bagels "are the best ever" (and she has eaten a lot of different ones) and their red pepper spread is perfect. I'm not even a donut lover and I never leave without at least one (but more likely a box of six).
Give yourself a treat...
