Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Uxbridge

That's an hour of my life that I will never get back. When we arrived just after 6 p.m. tonight, there were people standing all around the restaurant waiting for their orders. That should have been my first clue. It took just shy of an hour to receive our orders and they were cold when we ate them less than 10 minutes later at home. The Thursday special was supposed to include pineapple, green peppers and onions. No pineapple ever touched this meal, and the included garden salad became a greek salad which I do not like at all. And the chicken was unbelievably dry.

Sorry, but I had to mention to the manager that he should have stopped taking orders when the wait times were becoming interminably long, and to tell people that they were short staffed and could not satisfactorily serve the food in a reasonable amount of time. The staff were also picking and choosing which orders to fulfill -- trying to clear the backlog by serving customers with small, simple orders, while those of us with bigger orders were kept waiting even longer than necessary.

Will never come back to this location. There is a sign on the counter that states free toppings, tomato, lettuce, pickles, hot peppers, onions, and they charged me .85 cents for every one of those toppings that I wanted, even for extra garlic sauce and hot sauce. But they didn’t have the buttons for it on the till so the lady used a calculator to add up the total and added it manually. There was also another employee, an old man standing over her shoulder watching her type everything in. The chicken also tasted day old atleast it was dry and there was hardly any on it. She also had her child there sitting at a table colouring. I normally go to the Osmow’s in orillia and they never charge for those listed toppings and the chicken always tastes fresh. This is the only Osmow’s location that charges for “free” toppings on your meal. Every Osmow’s I go to, and I get Osmow’s often bc it is delicious, does not charge for free toppings because they are listed as free. I am not sure why this woman manager at this location feels the need to line her pockets and take advantage of the people of Uxbridge. I will be picking up Osmow’s in my work town from on and bring it to town. Today I was in a pinch and needed to buy here and thought if I told the staff that I did more research and have visited multiple Osmow’s in the area and as far away as Cornwall to compare and all give the FREE toppings that it actually claims it does on the menu, that they might honour what the franchisees all honour … the sign that says free toppings. 1.00 per topping….
