The worst Swiss Chalet I've ever been to. I LOVE Swiss Chalet typically. I've been to franchises from Windsor to Ottawa. This one has the worst service, and the worst upkeep I've ever experienced. Before the renovation, the restaurant was FILTHY. One occasion, they had no clean glasses and served us with paper cups. Food was never up to usual Swiss Chalet standards.
After being closed for MONTHS due to pests, and shutdown by the health service, it has been renovated and reopened in late 2018. The restaurant renovations were beautiful, and the dining room remodel is impressive.
Our first visit had us waiting at the front desk for over 10 minutes before someone came to seat us. Upon ordering my dinner, I found a bone fragment in my hot chicken sandwich. Staff apologized and provided me with a voucher for a quarter chicken dinner. Our second visit had us seated within a reasonable time from arriving, but we waited at the table for 10+ minutes without a server greeting us. We left without ordering, disappointed once again by possibly the worst Swiss Chalet in Canada.
**Update: I was contacted by Swiss Chalet corporate, who had someone from the store email me. 20% off a bill? This does nothing to address the continual disappointing service at this location. I imagine that the new renovations will be pointless in a few months once the restaurant is filthy again, and all second chances their customers have given them have run out. I've ran bigger franchises before with not the typical simple menu. As you know what you get there. You hardly ever see your server if you do, so used to doing this industry, is it fair to say you have your servers on the bar side and the other. As if you do, that's very wrong resulting in neglected customers and a mess if a place with empty tables uncleard. This would be all very unacceptable to almost any restaurant standards. Why Uxbridge has deteriorated, I can put most together watching. You have servers with tables everywhere. Where's their section of all tables close for the simple easy reason of keeping an eye on all at the same time, being in the area frequently and clearing many tables dirty dishes at once along with checkups, ie: refills etc. I've never been asked a simple, how was everything, or not long after meal delivered, a quality check, is everything to your satisfaction takes 20 seconds out of severs time. All round terrible and I could continue to give examples to change. Aside, servers saying they have a hard time with negative reviews to argue, there is no arguing this or any of what has been stated by others. It is a chance for you to read, and fix the service and areas. Improve as going to other big known bar/restaurant franchises. ..this would end in a shift or two amongst maybe if scheduling sections isn't in a common area, fix management as well as I've done it and more...
