A&W Canada — Restaurant in Vancouver

I went to this location because it is close to where I live and also because I had a coupon book that I received in the mail. I went to this location on Friday February 12, 2015 around 6pm, using the drive thru. I used a coupon to order a mama burger combo for $3.99 (ordered iced tea for this combo), then ordered a papa burger combo with coke. I asked for cheese on the mama burger; then the woman taking ordered asked me, "is that with iced tea?," I said, "yes." she then tells me the order was $11.something. I figured ok, good I saved some money. As I was driving towards the pick up window. I noticed my drink for the papa burger combo was changed and there was a person behind me and I couldn't change the drink. I figured maybe I can change it at the window. But, there were people in front of me (which took a very long time). I finally get to the window and the woman was going to ask for my payment. I quickly tell her that I ordered coke not iced tea for the papa burger combo. She makes the change, then tells me it will be $19.something. I asked her why so much, I have a coupon. She makes the change then tells me my order came to $15.something instead of the original $11.something. I asked why is the amount different from the original price given to me at the order area. She told me because the cheese was extra. That's some expensive cheese. I tell her that her original price was a lot lower, she tells me she doesn't remember the original price. I am very disappointed with the woman's service. She was indifferent, she lacked customer service skills from the beginning. I am upset with her service, I am not happy with the long wait for the food. The woman didn't take ownership of her mistakes and she didn't care whether she made mistakes taking my order. I would have drove off without my order if it wasn't for the fact that I specifically ordered the mama burger combo for my daughter who wanted this combo with cheese. The woman made my visit to this location unpleasant. I understand working for a living, but if you are not going to do your job correctly and treat your customers well, then maybe it's time to move on. The coupono did not make up for any savings because this woman made me feel like she just didn't care. I wouldn't recomend this location if this woman is working at the drive thru station. Poor service, poor listening skills, and really poor attitude. AWFUL from the beginning to the end. A & W isn't worth it if this is the service customers are receiving when trying to enjoy a meal there. If you do go there, I hope that you get better service than I did. I most likely will not go to this location again. I would rather go to the Broadway and Commercial location, where the employees there actually care about their customers and treat them way better than the woman at Hastings Street, near...

I've been there several times for breakfast. I was not very satisfied with the service and the food seems to be a bit old. At the begining, I thought maybe it was because they where opening (it was a quarter after 5am), but after I realised it's open 24h/7.

The first breakfast I ordered was a combo to go and when I looked at it, I was wtf ??? It was so messy. sunny side up instead scrabled eggs, no cheese in the sandwich and no trace of my orange juice. By the way, I realised all that back home, I didn't look at it before leaving the restaurant. I went back there to get what I ordered for and the hipster seems to be mad at me because I was not satisfied and wanted my order to be re-made. I was very polite (even if I didn't wanted to) and the way he was looking at me. it was soooo... If he could, I'm sure he would have killed me with that look.

Every time I went back for breakfast I was looking at the order before leaving. Do you know what ? Most of the time there was something missing or wathever not cooked properly or anyway blablabla.

One day, a customer was complaining about his order from the day before, saying that he've been sick and had to stay home on his day off throwing up all day long... I was not suprised at all about that hahaha. I was laughing out loud, but later I was not laughing anymore... I was enjoying my day off, sleeping a few hours after my breakfast. I started waking up several times with stomach burns and having stranges tasting burps. You already know what happened next. Oh yes... I was throwing up, going back to bed, throwing up, back to bed and on and on and on. That's what I did for maybe 10 to 12 hours... A very nice day off !

So you probably know that I'm not trusting that restaurant anymore. I'd rather eat anywhere else than this restaurant now. Thrust me, it's better to stay home and eat peanut butter toasts than go eat...

I'll say it again corporate has all most got it down (when I say all most its cause the individual stores franchisees are not connected obviously to head quarters and why cuz I'll tell you why no such thing as every store carrying almond milk for my coffee you guys got it all down when you came up with beyond Burger but come on make it mandatory that every franchisee has to carry almond milk soy milk any kind of milk other than milk milk that's cow milk I'm saying because the times are changing and we demand non cow milk in our coffees way better for you anyhow this store here is clean inside and out extremely impressive the people that are inside the store are happy and it says something with management so if I were you management owners take a little less profit and give the boys and the girls who work with you a little bit more money to take home that's only fair yeah your bottom line not the best but hey think of this concept what if you got extremely happy employees they go out of the way for your customers could that increase your bottom line I think you could and one of the ways to keep those employees happy is to get more money an hour less in your pocket more than equals happy people all around okay so everybody else head on over if you want something good beyond burgers and the best well there's tied for this one the best hash browns did you ever get your competition is close in the hash brown department but this store takes care when you're cooking your hash browns that's what I can say for sure and the burgers that's beyond the burgers okay take care...
