EDIT in response to the owner:

I think the language barrier might be on your end judging by your italian and your spelling of "hiball", but "on this planet" as you say, a whisky highball is a cocktail made with whisky, soda (carbonated) water, and ice, served in a tall glass. You apparently need to be educated on this as well as the server. The glass is traditionally called a "highball" glass, the drink served to me was in An Old Fashioned glass (aka rocks glass or whiskey tumbler). The fact that you're defending yourself and your establishment and this asinine server over this false understanding comes off as petty, defensive, and honestly a pretty sad way to communicate with your patrons. If anyone orders a "highball" and is served burbon neat shows a major lack of fundamental bartending knowledge. If there was clarification needed why would the server not simply ask? There was no intimidation from me, it was pure confusion, and when she spoke back to me with an attitude it was extremely offputting and unwelcoming. Much in the same manner as your passive aggressive ugly response. Anyway, i'll be reducing the stars on my review to one star. Thanks for doubling down on your immature attitude.

Me: Ah yes, i would like a Double Bourbon Highball Server: Sorry what did you say? Me: A Double Bourbon Highball Server: I know, i thought you said something after that.

walks away

Server Delivers me a double shot of bouron neat.

Me: i asked for a highball. Server: That is a highball. Me: no, it is not. this is burbon neat. Server: Okay then do you want me to add something to it or change the order? Me. Yes, add sparkling water, becasue this is just bourbon neat. Server: Remember when i asked you what you said when you ordered it? maybe you should've told me then that you wanted sparkling water with it.

What planet am I on? am i getting gaslit or does this server just have a black hole for a brain?

please educate your staff on what drinks are. And less attitude would probably go a long way with your patrons.

Your fococcia is lovely btw. thanks for...

I really wanted to love Bar Corso more than I actually did. We arrived for our dinner reservation only to wait 10 minutes outside by the door and then be offered a patio spot (coldish outside) or the bar. Looks like the people in front of us got the last booth table for 2 (even though they didn't have a reservation) so we chose the bar. Little did we know the bar seats were awkward to move and although they fit the vibe lacked functionality. We started with a Peroni and Aperol spritz to drink. Presentation was good and we liked the atmosphere. For food we ordered the potatoes, pane (bread) with black butter, warm olives and rigatoni. The bread was really good and intriguing especially with the black butter that had such a unique familiar flavour, I couldn't quite put my finger on. The citrus olives were spectacular: warm, meaty and perfectly seasoned. The potatoes were sub par and even though they had morel mushrooms and ricotta, they lacked flavour and depth. The rigatoni with bolognese was nothing special and could have been more bright or enticing. At least the noodles were cooked perfectly and the fresh basil gave it at least more flavor. For dessert we paired some prosecco with tiramisu and stracciatella gelato. The tiramisu was different and had about 1 cookie in it. There was a softer cake like layer inside that was overly soaked in a bitter coffee. Again not terrible but not the best. Overall, not a horrible meal or evening as the servers were pleasant but I world only go back for...

Got there on a Sunday night after 8. The vibe in the restaurant was amazing great crowd and what I was looking for to wine down after a long day. The bartender was great to start off greeted us and sat me and my friend down at the bar area with no reservations. We asked about the tasting menu but unfortunately they were sold out and recommended to us to reserve one when we make a reservation, so the misinformation we didn’t get through the website and etc. so the bartender recommended on some dishes that were great. The downside was the food took forever. We order 4 dishes and it took almost 2 hours which I think it was crazy waiting that long for a raw beef dish, salad, pasta and a cheese board. I totally understand if they notified the food will take longer than expected but nothing. In the end was the most ridiculous thing that happened to me and my friend. After we paid for the bill in CASH and left a 20% tip which everyone deserves a second chance seeing how busy they were. After walking a block away the bartender chased me down asking me and my friend to pay for the bill which it was unprofessional And we told the bartender we left cash on the table. Made us feel so embarrassed and profiling us that we were dine and dashing because we were wearing sweatpants? Next time look at the table where the bill is before running at us...

A wonderful experience in Little Italy, perfect for a night out with friends or on a date! We have been meaning to find a new tapas-style bar for a while, and decided to go for this relatively new place on The Drive. Amazing selection of cocktails, particularly their negronis. We had the ‘Beam Me Up’ negroni (Empress gin-based) and the ‘Superiore’ (baccur gin-based). My recommendation would be the ‘Beam Me Up’, perfect mix of alcohol, sweet, sour, and all! Having said that, you really cannot go wrong with any of their drinks. Onto the food, delicately prepared, perfect bites to complement the drinks. You’re started with house sourdough focaccia, and then, we ordered the Salmon Rilette Crostino (with roe and pickled cucumber), Polpettine (slow cooked meatballs, Sunday sugo, parmigiano reggiano, and focaccia), the Cavolfiore Arrosto (roasted cauliflower with saffron, arugula pesto, cherry tomato, and puffed quinoa), and finally, the Cacio e Pepe Verde (pasta, green peppercorns, pistachio, and pecorino). I don’t think I could even pick a favourite, but the Salmon Rilette Crostino and Polpettine meatballs were astounding. Already looking forward to my next visit, and I hope we’ll get to see some new seasonal dishes!

Came in for a drink after work. We got here a little late so could not sample the food. The drinks were great and the service excellent. They made room for me and the Mrs at the bar. Definitely will be back to try the food menu! Edit. We finally made it back to try the food menu. It happened to be our 29th Anniversary and we were taking a stroll on Commercial. We started with a couple of drinks. Ananas Negroni and Amalfi sour were yummy . The sour was so refreshing! A must try. We then had some crostinis. The tuna and wagyu beef were both so tasty. The Hokkaido scallops were served over some pickled vegetables. It was good and also refreshing. The shrimp pasta was our favorite dish of the night. Perfectly cooked noodles. I also ordered bison. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing. La Radice Dell’estate was a yummy pineapple rum cocktail. We also tried the Hanami and Burnside Avenue. All went down so smoothly. We ended the night with Semifreddo. A perfect dessert to end our Anniversary evening. Our server was excellent and made many good drink recommendations. We left full and satisfied. Bar Corso is definitely a go to spot on Commercial Drive!

🌙 Midnight Cheers at Bar Corso: Where Happy Hour Shines 🍸✨ 🌜 Venturing out for a late-night date on Commercial Drive, my wife and I were drawn to Bar Corso, a cozy nook that promised an intimate escape. Nestled in the heart of what's affectionately known as Little Italy, it was our beacon at midnight. 🌃💑 🥃 The Old Fashioned and Negroni from their Happy Hour menu were our picks — and oh, what a choice! Expertly mixed, these cocktails soared to the top of our list, making the night even more special. 🍸✨ 👀 Though we were there post-supper, the ambience and the tantalizing menu have us plotting a return for their culinary offerings. Bar Corso has quickly charmed its way into our hearts, becoming a must-visit spot. 📖🍽 🔙 Can't wait for our next visit to dive into the full Bar Corso experience — from their delectable dishes to the rest of their cocktail mastery. This hidden gem on Commercial Drive has become our new favorite late-night haunt. 🎉🔝 🌟 Whether you're wrapping up your evening or just getting started, Bar Corso offers a perfect blend of ambiance, exquisite drinks, and the promise of delicious food. See you there for another round of memorable nights! 🍹🌌
