Not sure why the negative reviews but this is my experience visiting this cafe location, located in Building B (North side by parking lot) at the Vancouver Community College's Broadway Campus.
The service is welcoming and very efficient, where some might consider it as "too rushed". Actually, it is a breath of fresh air when a barista or staff at an establishment acknowledges your presence so it's a plus in my book. The coffee is decent and selecting the turkey/bacon sandwich, lemon bar, and/or date squares are never wrong choices. My favourite "go to" is the extra, extra, extra hot almond milk with real dark Belgian chocolate, unlike syrups or powders other cafes use.
Staff are always very friendly and service is always excellent. If you are looking for a "chain" type of coffee house where you could sit down for hours working on a device, this is not the location. However, if you want good beverages and snacks served to you in a friendly and efficient manner, visit them instead of Starbucks, 2nd Cup, Waves, Tim Hortons, etc.
Note that this location does have free Wi-Fi available through Telus. Also of note is that this location offers 4 free 15 minute parking spots - Park, get out and enough time for you to get your beverages and food!
One of the best Blenz...
Read moreAbsolute disappointment. My coworkers and I came to Blenz Coffee for their HEROES FOR HEROES DAY where they are giving out small drinks for free to City workers as a tribute to our hard work and dedication, with at least 6 different drink options! When we got there they said they would not honour this and would only give a small coffee or tea for free. No cafe latte’s, no matcha latte’s and no hot chocolates at all. They said that if they honoured this tribute day that they would not have enough supplies for PAYING customers. Very disappointed with this location, their service and with Blenz Coffee in general for allowing this. Supplies should have been purchased in advance especially for their very first ever Heroes for Heroes Day tribute. We all left feeling very under appreciated and devalued. Thank you for this uncaring and detached experience...
Read moreI have gone to Blenz out of convenience and for the products you can buy there but can't get in the VCC cafeteria. Unfortunately, the manager is extremely rude and makes it not even worth going there for a rich dark hot chocolate. I'll take the watery hot chocolate from the cafeteria and be greeted by much friendlier staff than go down there and deal with their grouchiness. Also, expect to pay for every. single. thing. Even after buying a wrap one morning, they wouldn't put a splash of hot water in my tea that I brought from home because, "they have self-serve hot water in the cafeteria." That's a cool two levels up and one building over from where my class was and the Blenz....
