Ohh man how I love döner, I’m not sure why they’re so difficult to find back in the states ( I haven’t found a place that serves them). The closes “equivalent” is a shawarma or a gyro but they’re not the same. I had 2 on my Vancouver trip and the other one I had was from Donair Dude because it was right outside the Amtrak station. The döner here was great because the meat was good but it was slightly less flavorful than the donair dude due to there just being less sauce options to choose from. I parked in metered street parking a little ways down because I was originally in the area for Cowdog coffee and got hungry. There are two tables outside which is nice because it was very hot inside the restaurant when I was there.

This place just sold me the most awfully disgusting chicken schwarma plate. It was sopping wet and undercooked.. The meat was horrendous, they didn't even fill the plate across the rice. The guy grabbed meat from the bottom tray of the spit, then grafted from meat held back in the holding vat. The guy then proceeded to flounder it in flavourless white sauce and send me out the door basically stealing 12 of my hard-working dollars for sub par quality food. When I arrived home and tried to eat it, I ended up spitting out half of it. Day old salad and nothing fresh about this spot. Avoid at all costs!

I got the Mix Plate with Chicken & Falafel for lunch, around $18 per plate. Highlight: falafel. It has a lot a flavor and with the hot sauce is top notch. The Shirazi salad was missing some salt and vinegar to add richness. The rice was ok and the chicken goes unnoticed. Customer service is transactional, not really motivated. They should improve on this issue. Overall it’s 3/5. Falafel is great but the rest of the plate is lacking depth. I had better expectations by reading the reviews.

The food is good but I’m from the east coast and use to a lot of “Halifax sauce” I kept asking for more and was denied because the maker of it wanted to keep it original and not too sweet. That is not what I was asking for. I came in to have the taste of the Halifax sauce as that is what I’m used to and enjoy. The food was good but it’s not what I wanted and didn’t have enough of the sweet sauce on it even though I asked many times. I would’ve paid extra if that was the problem. I just wanted it to taste like how it did at home for me since I’m out of province and was very let down. Would’ve gone somewhere else if I knew that’s how it would’ve gone. The end product is good. But if you’re from the east coast it will not be what you’re asking or looking for. I don’t feel like it’s the persons who makes my foods decisions how my thing should taste if I’m asking for more sauce. I didn’t want it original I wanted it like they make in Halifax. Anyways super let down will not go again. I came in there for the sweet sauce and told him that and he didn’t care. If you’re from east coast go some where else. If you’re from van this will be great. The wrap was decent I just wish it had what I asked for on it instead of being told it was “too sweet” I know what I wanted asked for it many times and did not get it because the servers thought...

I am blown away by the number of local guides that have given this place 5 stars. It just reinforces the fact that our city unfortunately has very little, if any, good donair options. Having said that I still can't believe these guides, I guess they are all suffering from a serious lack of functional taste buds.

I ordered the mix meat plate, the best way to test a place by the way. When it's all wrapped up in a pita you can't accurately grade the meat as it gets overwhelmed with toppings and heaps of sauce.

I have no complaints about the service which is part of the reason I gave it one star. But the quality of the meats was terrible, hummus another thumbs down, rice was fine and the pita was grilled well (grilled perfectly, another reason for the one star). So if you are in the mood for good rice and pita then go right ahead and enjoy.

Best falafel on commercial drive is miles ahead of the competition. I was skeptical of their name but they live up to that name and have maintained a high level of standard evry...

Went to this place last night. Horrible service. Got two chicken plates. One with no hummus extra rice and one with no salad extra rice. I understand it is an unusual order so I tipped 15% for the inconveniences even though I was grabbing it to go and not dining in. The lady working there only put half of the normal portion of chicken shown in the pictures. The chicken was literally in one corner of the plate with most of the plate being sauce over rice. The meat was dry and old. Salad was also dry and bitter. Needless to say both my girlfriend and myself were very disappointed. This was our first and LAST time. It is their loss as we go out for donair about once a month. I hope this review helps people stay clear of these money grabbing people. And helps the owners of this establishment strongly reconsider their business motto. I have attached a picture for reference....
