Visiting Vancouver for a couple of days. Decided to try out the breakfast food here. It's right on the water and has a terrific view of the mountains. There are tall floor to ceiling windows facing the water so you get plenty of natural light. We were a party of 6, and they placed us at a hightop table that has a bench on one side, and taller stools on the other. It was a little awkward for most people. Those on the bench, were not able to place their feet on floor, and those of us on the stools, did not find them comfortable. Got served right away with waters and menu. The hot teas and coffees came out soon after. They have a large selection of their specialty Pannekoeken. They very from simple cakes to skillet versions. You can roll them up, or eat them like a regular flat cake. They are large and cost $19 - $26 dollar. You can get a half size but the prices is only $3 less. My partner and I ended getting banana/walnut version. It was good, but not great. A little too thin for my liking. The pieces of walnuts and banansa were protruding out the top. (but that's how they are supposed to be). Service was excellent. Super friendly and attentive. I felt it was a bit pricey for the amount of food you got. Probably not a place that we would likely come back to.

Since 1975, De Dutch has been offering their guests genuine Dutch cuisine and West Coast favourites prepared with a subtle, yet original twist. â„čAbout The founder In 1975 after a visit to see his family in Holland, John Dys returned to Canada with some home-grown inspiration and opened the first “Original Dutch Pannekoek House” (later renamed “De Dutch”) ❗Your Options: Breakfast Brunch Lunch 📌 The location and view of this branch is unique as you can see the ocean while sitting inside. đŸ€”â€â™€ïž Most of the time servers are nice and warm. They support your order fast and properly. đŸ„™ The breakfast and brunch are always delicious. - For a classic breakfast choose Breakfast Platter. - For different types of Omelettes, choose Dutch Omelette. - For a more diverse type of breakfast, choose Hash-n-Eggs. You’ll have green pepper, onion, tomato, corn, & hash browns altogether. đŸ„‚ Definitely start your portion with their Fresh Orange Juice🍊 đŸ„žPannekoeken Pannekoeken are Dutch pancakes that can be served sweet or savoury. Be careful as the size of the pancake is big and you have to share it. Definitely, you’ll have a memorable breakfast or brunch in De Dutch. Enjoy!👌

This was our first time dining at the Vancouver Convention Centre location of De Dutch but I think it might be my favourite location now, so I sure hope that it won't be our last time dining there! In all honesty, the food is just as good at any other location of De Dutch but I just love the picturesque setting of this one. With its huge windows overlooking the harbor...How could it not be my favourite? My two meat eaters both decided to go for hamburgers. One had hamburger with fries, and the other had hamburger with hashbrowns. I was the only one who ordered the food that De Dutch is actually known for, which is their Dutch Pannekoek. I ordered the Vegetarian Pannekoek. In the past I've ordered this same Pannekoek with a sunny side up egg on top but I've been trying to cut back on eggs for awhile now, so I just ordered it as it was on the menu. Mmmmm...so yummy and satisfying, and even though I do love the taste of a sunny side up egg, I really didn't miss the egg at all. The Pannekoek held up very well on its own. If you havn't tried a Pannekoek yet, this is a great place to try one! Service: Good Parking:  Paid Location: #60 -1055 Canada Place, Vancouver

I had an extremely disappointing experience and this is my first time ever writing a review.

When we arrived, the restaurant was busy, and we waited about 10-15 minutes for a table, which was reasonable. However, after we were seated, more tables opened up, but the service remained frustratingly slow.

When placing my order, I asked about getting two smaller-sized “klein” pancakes as a half-and-half order. The server told me that a single pancake was about $18, but if I ordered two smaller ones, it would be $18 plus an extra $3-4. Based on this information, I went with the smaller option.

While waiting, we noticed several customers around us complaining about slow service, with some even telling the staff they were in a rush and had to leave. Unfortunately, we had the same experience, waiting almost 40 minutes for our food. Since we didn’t complain or rush them, no one checked on us at all during that time.

When the food finally arrived, there was no apology for the long wait. Even after that, our water glasses were left empty, and we were never offered refills.

The final frustration came when we received the bill. We were charged for two full orders of pancakes ($18 x 2) instead of the expected $22 total based on what the server originally explained. When we asked about it, we were told it was actually a $3-4 discount per order, which was never explained when I initially asked. Had we known, we would have just ordered the full size. Again, there was no apology for the confusion.

Despite all of this, we still left a tip because the food itself was good. However, the poor service, long wait times, lack of communication, and overall attitude from the staff made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I won’t...

Our recent visit to De Dutch left us with a rather sour taste, both figuratively and literally. Despite the convenient location and easy access, it was a breakfast experience that we would have preferred to skip.

The food at De Dutch was, at best, mediocre. We had expected more from a restaurant specializing in breakfast. The quality and taste of the dishes were underwhelming, and nothing stood out as particularly memorable. It's disappointing when you start your day with high hopes for a delicious meal and end up with something that doesn't meet even basic expectations.

Service, unfortunately, was another letdown. Our interactions with the staff left much to be desired. They seemed disinterested and inattentive, which detracted from the overall dining experience. It's a shame when lackluster service compounds the disappointment of subpar food.

While the location of De Dutch may be convenient for some, we couldn't help but feel that it wasn't worth the stop. There are plenty of other breakfast spots in Vancouver that offer both better quality food and more attentive service. Our visit to De Dutch felt like a waste of a breakfast opportunity in this vibrant city.

In summary, our experience at De Dutch left us with little to recommend. The combination of mediocre food and poor service made it a regrettable choice for breakfast during our visit to Vancouver. We'll be seeking out other dining options...
