A Fun and Unexpected Find! 💧

Came across this giant, shiny raindrop sculpture right beside Canada Place and it totally caught me by surprise! It’s called “The Drop” and was made by the artist group Inges Idee back in 2014. At first, I wasn’t sure what it was—but once I got closer, I thought it was so cool!

It’s huge, reflective, and looks especially awesome when the sun hits it. The way it plays with light and the surroundings really makes you stop and appreciate it. It’s such a simple idea but so memorable. Perfect for a quick photo with the harbour or mountains in the background!

I love that Vancouver has these little pieces of public art that make a walk along the waterfront even more interesting. If you’re passing by Canada Place, definitely take a minute to check it out. It’s free, it’s fun, and it’s...

The Drop is a striking public art installation located on the Vancouver waterfront near Canada Place. Shaped like a giant raindrop, the sculpture stands about 20 meters tall and is painted a vivid blue, blending beautifully with the sky and ocean background.

Created by the German artist collective Inges Idee, The Drop symbolizes Vancouver’s close relationship with nature, water, and especially rain — something the city is well known for. It adds a playful and elegant touch to the waterfront, making it a favorite spot for tourists and photographers.

Whether you’re taking a walk along the seawall or just enjoying the views of the harbour and mountains, The Drop is a simple yet powerful piece of art that captures the spirit...

Quirky and Iconic – A Perfect Symbol of Vancouver! I absolutely loved stumbling upon The Drop while walking near Canada Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre. It’s such a clever and artistic tribute to the city’s rainy weather — a giant, sleek blue raindrop that looks like it’s frozen mid-fall.

It adds a fun and modern touch to the waterfront, and with the mountains, ocean, and cruise ships in the background, it makes for an amazing photo spot. It’s one of those little gems that gives the city character. Simple, elegant, and a bit playful — just like Vancouver itself.

Definitely worth a stop if you’re exploring downtown or walking along...

The Drop is an interesting piece of metal sculpture set at the corner of the iconic Canada Place in Downtown Vancouver. It is about 20 meters high and is in the shape of a slanting water or rain drop falling on the earth. It is supposed to signify a homage to the power of nature and represents the and outlook towards the waters that surrounds the city of Vancouver. The steel sculpture is bright blue in color as it is covered by blue polyurethane. It complements the fascinating and interesting sights around the waterfront of the sea planes taking off or landing, and the small boats and large ships moving about in the Burrard Inlet.
