Update: I visited the place again spoke to Marianna who was very courteous and explained to me that my previous experience happened to folks learning on the job. On this visit, I decided to explore more flavors and opted for the Akbar Mashti and the Crema Motoretta. Let me tell you, they were both fantastic choices to savor on a sunny day. The Akbar Mashti stood out with its well-balanced flavors, avoiding the overly sugary sensation that I've experienced at other places. It hit all the right notes, making each bite a delightful experience.

Now, to complement the Akbar Mashti, I indulged in the Crema Motoretta, which provided a nice, neutral contrast. It perfectly complemented the richness of the Akbar Mashti, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors.

If you're seeking a refreshing ice cream experience that goes beyond the ordinary, I highly recommend trying the Akbar Mashti and the Crema Motoretta at this spot. They offer a balance of flavors that is sure to please your palate on a sunny day or any day, for that matter.

Old Review : Discovered this place while walking by it, looked interesting. There are a lot of good gelato places which I've tried in the city so I was excited to try this one. I tried the ricotta and the goat chocolate. The taste and flavours were all there but the amount of gelato I got was quite a bit less for the price. I'd definitely want to try more but the cost to the ratio of gelato one gets is quite poor compared to the competition. I'd want to recommend this place but its hard to justify the cost compared to...

We returned to this renowned Italian gelateria today with one mission - to indulge in their legendary hot chocolate. This marks our second year participating in the Hot Chocolate Festival, and last year's decadent cup still lingers in our memory like a delicious dream. The shop's interior continues to charm with its signature mustard-yellow furnishings that radiate vibrant character. This year's festival features two reinvented hot chocolate variations. We opted for the intriguing Dark Hot Chocolate with Aged Balsamic Vinegar, paired with their mascarpone and fig gelato. Each velvety sip of the rich chocolate revealed complex depths, the balsamic vinegar adding a sophisticated tang that elevated the experience. The accompanying gelato - creamy mascarpone swirled with jammy fig ribbons - proved why this establishment remains unmatched in frozen desserts. Together, the warm elixir and cool gelato created a symphony of contrasting textures and complementary flavors. True to form, this visit delivered yet another unforgettable gastronomic moment. From the first visit to today's return, this gem has consistently exceeded expectations, cementing its status as our go-to destination for artisanal indulgences. Every element - from the bold interior design to the meticulously crafted menu - confirms why this establishment remains in a...

I am so disappointed! This gelato is loaded with tons of sugar! And trust me, I am into sugar but not that much. I got the hazelnut flavour and my impression is that also, they go heavy on cream. It leaves on your tongue and palate a buttery "film". It does overpower the actual hazelnuts flavours.

Also, it is expensive! 7.50$ + tax+ tips(if you want to) for one flavour(which I know it is kind of average for Vancouver).

The disappointment comes from the fact that I spend that much and it's not even up to standards for real Italian gelato.

Usually if they out too much sugar is because their recipe is not good enough to guarantee an exceptional taste with few ingredients.

A NOTE about the gianduia flavour!!! I asked for a sample as I had the feeling that this was no going anywhere as usually, most of gelato place, for marketing, uses "unusual" or not known Italian words to most of the North American folks. The Gianduia it's a typical and traditional flavour from Turin, Piedmont, Italy and it is a mixed paste of Cacao and Hazelnut from Piedmont!

At Moretta, the gianguia flavour for me does not reach an acceptable level to call it gianduia, but mostly a chocolate flavour with some light Hazelnut hint that tastes as added artificial flavour!

There are few better options out there for the best real Italian and authentic...
