We ordered for the 2nd time at Deutsches Haus thru Uber delivery. The first order was a little over $70.00. The 2nd order was Sunday Nov 1, 2020, and a little over $50.00. I ordered a kid's meal and what came was a very long wienersnitzell without any taste and hard. The fries were dry and hard. The texture of the pork schnitzell as well as the fries is a day old, The other orders were thuringer bratwurst and bavarian meatloaf. One pretzel ordered where the butter was thrown inside the hot pretzel and it melted both. I am very disappointed with the quality of the kid's meal. Although kids cannot have a palate like adults, still they should not be given leftover schnitzell and fries that are days old. I come from Switzerland and lived there for years. Am very familiar with German food. Fleischkase what you call as bavarian meatloaf; wienerschnitzell which I use to make at home while living there; sauerkraut and red cabbage which we never puree like how you serve it here in Vancouver. They cook and serve it there with the texture of the veggies still chewable not just swalowable like we just had in our first order. The bratwurst and cervelat could have been given as a whole instead of half in that appetizer platter costing $18.45. After all a pack of cervelat with 7-8 pieces only cost $8.00. All in all I cannot give your food a 5 star. 2 stars is the best I could. It's probably the help cook that you have at the restaurant doing this lousy cooking. But it is information to improve the food quality so I am making this review for your dishes to improve quality and to attract the public to sample...
Read moreMy wife and I had never been here before tonight. When we arrived we we greeted and shown to our table. After looking over the menu we decided on what we were going to have. My wife ordered the Bavarian Pork hock with a side of red cabbage, I decided on the Schnitzel Munich and a beer. Our food arrived in a timely fashion. The problem I ran into was a strand of steel wool in my schnitzel on my fourth bite. I called our server (Tanja) over and pointed this out. She looked at it and agreed it was a strand of steel wool. Tanja took my plate and offered to have a new one made for me. I declined, At this she offered me something else or a dessert. Again I declined. So I sat and watched my wife enjoy her meal witch she said was a 7 out of 10. My wife ordered the Black Forest cake for desert. when we finished our bill was brought over and to compensate they compted the cake and my beer, as well my meal was removed from the bill. So yes Tanja did the right thing. However I was disappointed that the manager did not come over to apologize. The reason I declined any other food choices was because steel wool is used for scrubbing dirty pots and pans, and I was quite disgusted to find it in my Schnitzel. So As for myself I highly doubt I will return for...
Read moreOne of the best Pork Hocks I've had . A very authentic German dining experience. Felt like I was in Germany again. Would reccomend their Feast combo options because you get a bit of everything included. The scoop:
Pork Hock: a giant meaty juicy pork hock. The outside is so crispy that it is crunchy while the inside is literally so tender and juicy that it melts in your mouth. Delicious!
Red cabbage and apple sauerkraut: sweet and tangy which goes well with the meats
White sauerkraut: just like your normal white sauerkraut
Spatzle: soft and squishy... Kinda like fat egg noodles
Schnitzel: a pretty standard average schnitzel
German Meatloaf: tasted like a fusion of ham and hot dogs formed into a slice of meat
Weisswurst: a yummy white sausage. The other sausage: tasted like a smoky sausage
Sauces: two types of Mustard, a mushroom Jager sauce and a gravy like sauce were included. They were all good accompaniments to the meats.
The grapefruit radler was so good too. They also have a honey tasting radler.
Also, the portions were nice and big so you will definitely be full and be able to take leftovers...
