hair colour was decent and the stylist was nice, however the quality of my hair was ruined as atleast half of my hair was broken off and now my hair is super thin as I only had a trim ( no thinning or layering was done). My long hair was extremely broken and broken peices up to where my eyebrows are. I was in the salon for 9.5 hours. Stylist stated lightening process will be slower and lower strength as less damaging to my hair compared to bleaching it at a stronger level. She stated that 1 session was better than doing 2 sessions for lightening as long as the lightening was done slower process in one day. This may be true for someone who has very healthy hair that can stand this bleaching process but my hair was already weak. I believe a hair stylists should be able to determine if a client can handle a bleach and how long it should be on for before it gets extremely damaged.
Hair stylist stated my hair was breaking off during the bleaching when she was checking my foils (wouldve been a hint to not wash, dry and style my hair so roughly if she knew my hair was breaking and I assume more of my hair was broken off during this stage). I noticed alot of my broken hair was falling out as she blow dried and styled my hair. She kept apologising for the some warm tone at the bottom of my hair as she could not bleach it anymore and repeated how I should put olaplex and treatments in my hair. One positive is that she took her time to blend my hair well with my already bleached hair and my dark roots. But my hair is weak and thin and she compromised the health of my hair and caused it to be even thinner. I've never seen my hair so damaged and it will take a couple years or so to grow my hair back to all the same length. The hairs framing my face are at all different lengths and broken so I will have to part my hair on the other side. If you have strong healthy hair then maybe you may be lucky and get a decent balayage but if you care about the health of your hair then you should pay a bit more money to not worry about breakage.
Positives -nice staff, free parking, cheaper cost for a balayage, uses olaplex treatment after, environment was not too bad, had offered me some water and snack
Cons- very long hair session, not gentle on hair and extreme breakage, could have cared more for the quality of hair...
Read moreI have not been at Song Hair Salon for 2 years since my last hair colour appointment. My hair has grown out tremendously and has become quite horrible (please see left side photo). Having wanting to finally refresh my look with new hair colour, I found out that there was a new owner to Song Hair Salon. I made an appointment a week prior, and went in today with photos of the hair colour I wanted to achieve.
Pin (new owner), Kayla, and Becky were simply wonderful! They were professional, graceful and attentive to my needs. The music playing was upbeat but chill which helped to make the time pass by more quickly. Because of my poor hair care in the past and also of the amount of thick hair I have, the process could seem very lengthly and troublesome. I am most appreciative to Hairdresser Kayla as she was so swift and gentle with helping me through it all. She took her time to explain to me how to take care of my new hair and gave me such an amazingly comfortable hairwash! Kayla also made haircut recommendations to fit my needs and was so flexible to style and cut my hair exactly how I wanted. I must say from my years of going to Vietnamese salons, that Song Hair Salon is still my favourite. Their prices also seem more affordable compared to other salons. I am so very grateful for my new hair. I will definitely continue to be a returning client. Thank you Pin,...
Read moreI came to this salon second time hoping to get my hair done. First time the customer service wasnt great but the hair came out nicely even though the colour was different than what i wanted. Anyway i decided to give them another chance. But this time it was so horrible, i wanted ash greyish blonde highlights (balayage if possible) but i got super dark brown highlights instead. Then i wanted my short medium length pass my shoulder but they chopped my hair short to the point i cant even tie them all. I asked if they can fix them or at least my colour but the owner said NO, she wouldn’t wanna waste her time fixing it, and told me to come get my money back. So i did come back, but then when i got there, she was so rude, OMG!! She pointed her comb, that is full of black hair dye, at my face, and then when i tried to move it she screamed to people said i tried hitting her hand then she hit me with combs. Also, her employees was saying bunch of rude words to me, judging my look and telling me the money I paid not worth it to come and fight with them to get it back. HORRIBLE and RUDE place. They have no respect to people, don’t care about customers, only aim squeeze as much clients as possible to make money. Dont even bother to come here to waste your money to destroy your precious hair. Or if you do, make sure to record them if you come back to...
