Love the #4 boiled pork and shrimp tapioca dumplings. The skins are chewy but not too thick. Got the #7 yellow rice noodles with pork and garlic sauce. Really liked the noodles-cooked perfectly. The added cracker is a nice touch. Also got #9 grilled lemongrass chicken and egg on rice. They fry the egg leaving the yolk runny. It's good to mix into the rice. Lots of cold tea as it was a hot day, but had to finish with the #32 Che 3 mau drink. Like others I have had, the green jelly should be pandan but there is no flavour, just texture. The drink is great for a summer day with a lot of each ingredient. The only thing they could improve on though is to have another server, if just for the rush. With covid, they added a few more tables outside and the 2 servers were overwhelmed once the place was full. Cash or debit. Lots of free parking on the side streets. Good to go early around 6 to 7pm or get takeout and eat in Jones or Kensington Parks. Daniel

This Vietnamese restaurant is highly rated, so we came here and tried their Vietnamese food. There is street parking near the restaurant. No private parking lot. The restaurant was quite full when we got there but we were lucky to get a table right away. The service was okay. Once we had ordered the food, it came quickly. The restaurant was very efficient. We ordered beef combination, rare beef and tendon and etc. with thin rice noodle in soup. The beef was tendered. But the tendon was quite chewy and hard and it was not fully cooked yet. All of us ordered thin rice noodle in soup with small and large sizes. The small ones were quite small though. The broth/soup was good but it had a very strong flavour of star anise. Some people might not like it though. Overall, the service, quality of food and pricing are acceptable and on average.

I recently dined at Hoi An Cafe and had an incredible experience! The specialty dishes were outstanding. The Number 8 Cao Lau Đặc Biệt was a highlight, featuring tender noodles and perfectly seasoned pork, all brought together with a rich, flavorful sauce. The tapioca dumplings were delightful, with a chewy texture and a savory filling that was simply delicious. The pork and shrimp rice cake was another standout—steamed on the outside soft and flavorful on the inside. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff making sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a great meal. I highly recommend Hoi An Cafe for anyone looking to savor authentic Vietnamese cuisine. I'll definitely be back!

I suspect that there could be a change of ownership at this restaurant. Both food quality and service just isn't the same anymore.

As I entered the restaurant to pick up my food, there were flies revolving the center of the restaurant, a path that you must crossed to get to the cashier unfortunately.

I ordered 3 items plus 2 drinks.

1 dry noodles 1 lemongrass pork rice 1 beef flank and beef balls pho 1 coffee with condensed milk 1 avocado smoothie.

As I get ready for payment, the lady told me it was $63. I felt the price was absolutely ridiculously insane so I did some simple math in my head and decided to question the lady. She did her calculation again and corrected to $50.80 which seems to be closer to what I would expect for what I ordered. She did not show me the bill to begin with. I had to peek over the counter, saw some scribbles on a receipt closer to her but does not have any pricing written on it. The lady not only did not apologize for the incorrect information, she gave me an unpleasant face immediately after I question her calculation.

Food was mediocre, did not feel fresh. The lemongrass pork texture was alright, however the heavy orange hue is questionable. The pho was poorly packed, about 1/3 of the soup leaked.

Drinks were pure sugar, especially the avocado smoothie, definitely lack avocado flavor, almost none.

phô lovers - come hungry & treat your tummy with the freshness, authentic meal!

we're on a hunt for the next best phô place in town and came across this cozy little Vietnamese café.

sampled a few things on the menu:

bánh bôt loc lá chuôi steamed pork & shrimp tapioca dumplings wrapped in banana leaf served w/fish sauce

verdict: love the chewiness & flavor profile, small bite sized is just perfect before our noodle dishes

cao lâu (original) yellow rice noodle w/sautéed pork & garlic sauce + side of fresh mixed green herb & banana blossom

verdict: a special dry noodle that is well presented & well balanced in taste w/a light seasoning at bottom of dish. mix in the crispy herbs and it's music to your ears, very tasty!

phô tái gân sliced rare beef & tendon w/thin rice noodle in soup

verdict: broth was nice & hot (a must for me) when served; couldn't taste any MSG, simply the rich taste of beef bones, onions & garlic.

will be back to try out other...
