I suspect that there could be a change of ownership at this restaurant. Both food quality and service just isn't the same anymore.
As I entered the restaurant to pick up my food, there were flies revolving the center of the restaurant, a path that you must crossed to get to the cashier unfortunately.
I ordered 3 items plus 2 drinks.
1 dry noodles 1 lemongrass pork rice 1 beef flank and beef balls pho 1 coffee with condensed milk 1 avocado smoothie.
As I get ready for payment, the lady told me it was $63. I felt the price was absolutely ridiculously insane so I did some simple math in my head and decided to question the lady. She did her calculation again and corrected to $50.80 which seems to be closer to what I would expect for what I ordered. She did not show me the bill to begin with. I had to peek over the counter, saw some scribbles on a receipt closer to her but does not have any pricing written on it. The lady not only did not apologize for the incorrect information, she gave me an unpleasant face immediately after I question her calculation.
Food was mediocre, did not feel fresh. The lemongrass pork texture was alright, however the heavy orange hue is questionable. The pho was poorly packed, about 1/3 of the soup leaked.
Drinks were pure sugar, especially the avocado smoothie, definitely lack avocado flavor, almost none.

we're on a hunt for the next best phô place in town and came across this cozy little Vietnamese café.
sampled a few things on the menu:
bánh bôt loc lá chuôi steamed pork & shrimp tapioca dumplings wrapped in banana leaf served w/fish sauce
verdict: love the chewiness & flavor profile, small bite sized is just perfect before our noodle dishes
cao lâu (original) yellow rice noodle w/sautéed pork & garlic sauce + side of fresh mixed green herb & banana blossom
verdict: a special dry noodle that is well presented & well balanced in taste w/a light seasoning at bottom of dish. mix in the crispy herbs and it's music to your ears, very tasty!
phô tái gân sliced rare beef & tendon w/thin rice noodle in soup
verdict: broth was nice & hot (a must for me) when served; couldn't taste any MSG, simply the rich taste of beef bones, onions & garlic.
will be back to try out other...
