We booked a wedding at the Vancouver Maritime Museum for this past summer which included a contract for Emelle's Catering. They then provided Nicole, our organiser, who helped us understand everything about this big undertaking and who was just amazing to work with. They did not just the catering but also organised the furniture, the table linens and platings, and any music or alcohol licensing. Their catering of course included a tasting, where they fed you a full serving of the courses you chose. If there were things that you wanted changed, then you came back for a full serving of those changes. We only had to go twice to find a menu we loved. Our guests agreed, all the canape's were a hit especially the Pork Belly and the Un-tuna, but the Potato Souffle at dinner stole the show! We opted for the Poutine Bar add-on, which also was a huge hit, even more-so when guests realised that they could take it in to-go containers as it was a late-night snack. We loved the taste of the food, but even more than that, we loved how responsive they were to our dietary needs. Our wedding was 100% gluten free, and we had guests with a variety of dietary restrictions, including an Alpha-gal and Arfid, and Emelle's was able to accommodate everyone. They were great to work with and we felt safe and comfortable with them as our caterer. We opted to go with another vendor for cakes (a gluten free bakery that we love) and to bring our own alcohol, but Emelle's was still the staff that cut the cakes and tended the bar. The staff at the wedding was great. Everything was served in a timely manner and they were very good at getting the 'dietary restriction meals' to the individuals at the same time the rest of their table would go to the buffet. The furniture and table linens/settings was pretty straight-forward as Nicole was able to design a space that we both liked. And when we did have a last minute linens panic, we were able to meet with her at the warehouse to make a decision. In fact, there were so many times that we emailed her asking how to do something related to the wedding (such as alcohol license) that she said was already covered. She was very responsive and helpful, and doing this wedding without Emelle's would have been 100 times more stressful.

Good value spot for a quick lunch. Food tried this visit: 1. Barbecue chicken came with choice of fries, soup, or salad. Beef soup was selected. There was plenty of barbecue sauce on the three pieces of chicken. Chicken was fresh but was a touch over cooked. 2. Beef dip: au jus sauce was on the thick side and needed more seasoning. It was ok for the price point. More beef drippings/stock, red wine and seasoning could have added more depth to elevate the flavour. Beef itself was over cooked for my preference so was very dry and did not taste fresh. Fries seemed to be house made and were cut well. They could have been fried a few minutes longer for a crispier finish. The salad was fresh and dressed perfectly with a vinaigrette. Note: surcharge required for getting half salad and fries. Service: very friendly and helpful Ordering: Items can be ordered at the counter or in advance on Ritual. Seating is available indoor and out in the front patio. Paid street parking is available out front.

“Eggs”-actly Perfection. How many of you have had a perfectly poached medium egg?? The centre is creamy, with a thin line of just set egg. It’s heavenly, but oh so hard to do. Their Smoked Salmon Benny is something I dream about and always inspires me to attempt to replicate... to no avail. Thank you Chef Mary Lee and team... perfect eggs every time. Emelle’s is my hidden gem for brunch. If you haven’t tried it... you are missing out. It’s a five star brunch in a neighborhood café. It’s a safe neighbourhood café that I’m even confident taking my kids to. Sending Hugs In Difficult Times. Their Food Hugs are amazing. Fresh grocery, Lunch, Dinners for birthdays, life’s moments, any time. I send to clients, friends & loved ones. Anyone who needs a pick me up, a hug. Send them a Food Hug from Emelle’s. Love, love, love Emelle’s! #Safe, quiet, #hiddengem, #foodie #brunch

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Nicole from Emelle's Catering over the last year while we planned our wedding at the Vancouver Rowing Club. Emelle's is the venue's preferred caterer so we didn't have a choice, but as soon as I read all these Google reviews I knew I was in good hands. And did they EVER live up to the expectations!!! Nicole was by far the most responsive and helpful wedding vendor we worked with. Her communication was honestly impeccable, and helped to reduce a lot of stress that comes with planning a wedding. She happily answered the many questions we had, made menu adjustments and was very accommodating to our special requests. Several months before the wedding she hosted us for a full tasting which was so enjoyable to try all the food (because on our wedding day I barely had time to eat)! We've had great feedback about the food. We wanted to stay away from the usual wedding buffet roast beef, so we opted for barbecued steak which I know is a challenge for 100+ people but they absolutely nailed! It was so good! Also, the Butternut Squash Mac n' Cheese took the winner for best supporting role :) Soooo good! As you can see, Emelle's let's you make the menu your own and happily works hard to pull it off without a hitch. You're not just another customer with Emelle's. Even the staff on the day went out of their way to make sure we were treated special, pulling out my chair for me and setting aside a plate of hors d'oeuvres for us because we were off taking pictures - so sweet! If you are looking at having Emelle's provide catering for your wedding/event, stop reading and email them - you won't regret it! Thanks...

We used Emelle's for our wedding in May 2017, and, as far as the food went, it was amazing. I have only good things to say about that aspect of the catering. In addition, the severs were super lovely and professional.

However, my fiance and I were pretty nonplussed by the way everything was handled before the wedding. We had to initiate most of the communication, asking about things they should've been asking us e.g. how many high chairs we'd need; what we wanted our bar service to look like. Out of all of our vendors, Emelle's had the least followup and paperwork documenting our agreement. This led to a miscommunication that left us with a big dessert item missing from our reception. Basically, we didn't feel like our business was valued, starting from after the first tasting session.

That being said, our wedding planner was a week-of planner, as opposed to a full-time one. She definitely would have saved us trouble with Emelle's had she been working for us the whole lead-up to the wedding. So, my recommendation is that, if you have a planner, Emelle's is a strong choice because the quality of food is guaranteed. If you aren't going to be using a professional planner for your event, just be prepared to be really on the ball; make sure you get clear receipts and agreements in writing...
