The owner of the is establishment has a secret ingredient that goes in every dish, soup, and sandwich, and you taste it . . . it's called Passion! Do not let the humble appearance of this Broadway gem fool you. Inside is a warm cozy space filled with delicious delights to tempt your taste buds. I found this place one day when I was running late to a last-minute event around 11am when I knew I would not have a chance to eat again for another 7 hours. I was in a sour mood, stressed, and famished. As I was heading to the Waffle Gone Wild spot, (praying they would have more than just carbs) I noticed a sign before I reached it that said Breakfast All Day. I was hooked. I love breakfast any time of day and believe it is the most important meal of the day. The owner introduced me to a dish native to his home that LITERALLY changed the direction of my entire day. Not only was it an explosion of flavors in my mouth, it made me pause and savor each.and.every.bite. I licked the plate and swiped up any remaining sauce of Shik Shuk with my perfectly toasted and buttered bread. By the way, did I mention that the hash browns were the most delicate and melt in your mouth hash browns I have ever tasted. He even told me how to recreate it! I left with a smile on my face, happy and satisfied. Since then I have returned for lunch and tried the Free Range Chicken Sandwich. One word. Perfection. I HIGHLY recommend this spot for any meal to warm your belly and heart. I will be back time...
Read moreThis is my favorite sandwich spot in the city, and I've been going for a few years now. The interior is warm and inviting, with an absolutely gorgeous, hand drawn menu board. But the thing that impresses me the most is the quality of the ingredients and food. It is very clear to me that the owner takes pride in the food he serves, and I've always gotten the impression that he would not serve food that he himself wouldn't eat and enjoy. The meat options are always fresh and hearty (no thin, highly processed meat with questionable textures), and they offer unique vegetarian options as well. The Dahl soup is delicious. The prices may come off as a bit steep but the way I see it, rent in Kits is outrageous, and you are paying for fresh ingredients made right. I've definitely eaten at other places in this price range only to be served frozen/processed pre-prepared food. So for me, the price matches the quality here, and it is why I continue to go back time...
Read moreAfter trying the shashuka from Harvest Deli and loving it, I had to try it when I visited Israel, Jordan, and Morocco. I searched diligently for this dish and, after trying dozens of versions in the Middle East, I have concluded that Harvest Deli has the best shashuka in the world! That's right, this dell in Vancouver, Canada, of all places, has the best shashuka in the world!
The chili and many other sandwiches are also excellent.
Today, Harvest has a special offering, a turkey meatloaf ciabatta sandwich. It was incredibly flavorful and juicy. We even took one extra home to have for dinner.
My wife and I come here every week because we cannot resist the...
