Tucked between residences, Volunteer Park allows the serene views of English Bay to filter into the neighbourhood. Towering poplar and locust trees line a pathway that leads to the pebble beach below.

This site was once the location of Seagate Manor and two other smaller, private residences. They were all demolished in 1977 after being purchased through the Park Board's Land Acquisition Fund. The purchasing of waterfront property along Point Grey Road, to open it for public access, has long been an objective of the Park Board.

In 1985 the Park Board was petitioned by the Vancouver Volunteer Centre to name this area Volunteer Park in recognition of all city volunteers and as part of Vancouver's Centennial...

This park space is easily available from Point Grey Road and populated by poplar trees with extensive views of Burrard Inlet and the very popular North Shore views..there is an extensive bike lane trail available.. there are very comfortable benches and the stairway to the seashore is easily available.. one of our favourite relaxation spots to just sit/stand and listen to the music of the waves meeting the beachfront..of course at lower tides one can wander the extensive Point Grey Road Park Foreshore both east and west as some of the photos I have taken show how absolutely beautiful it is…the steps to the seashore are at the eastern edge...

Quiet, quaint park with great views.

The park has recently been renovated to open up the long buried stream that had supported salmon habitat in the past.

The city had done a remarkably thoughtful and inspired design approach to the renovation based around salmon habitat restoration.

New and easy access to the oceanfront via stairs and a fun ramp make the incredible oceanfront experience available to all.

I am looking forward to getting to know the new stream and to watch for seasonal changes in water volume and hopefully, the...

There's a tiny sliver of beach nestled at the north end of the park and accessible only by stairs. A new fav spot for a quick ocean dip. Generally 4-5 other people around on the beach during peak times in the summer, but even then theres just enough beach sprawl to keep you separated by 20-30 feet if you're like me and want/need that. Dog friendly park with benches, beach, and a view. No playground, no restrooms here - Nearby Tatlow Park is a better pick for those needs.
