Do you like pizza? No, I mean the real deal. Not the wanna be pizzas. If yes, then you're gonna wanna try this place. I'll tell you why.

Whether you feel like dining in or take your pie home...this place does it. The restaurant is chic elegant with a tasteful decor that caters to a vast variety of moods, and I love the fact that you can have a nice bottle of red with their amazing Pepperoni pizza.....oh we'll get to the pepperoni! We've tried their Giuseppie's Choice and Pepperoni. One thing about this place is their uniquely creative creations when it comes to ingredient pairings. Trust them. They know. Trust me. The pepperoni was very good. No, I mean....it was really good. It was not oily, not too salty, perfectly cooked and distributed generously over the splendid dough with a mouth watering crust. Their thin crust pizzas give you a quality over quantity experience, and on that note, I haven't tasted pizza like theirs anywhere else in Vancouver. Not of that standard. I think it's also awesome that they have vegan options. Personally, I'm a carnivore, but....hey each to their own. Their staff are friendly, professional and on their game. Their location is right in the heart of beautiful Yaletown and their menu is "out of the box." What I mean by that is, it's refreshingly unpredictable, modern and exciting (yes, I take my pizza very seriously). If you've got a pizza craving to hit tonight....stop googling pizza places and check this...

This one of a few Ignite Pizzeria locations, located in a good spot in Yaletown, next to Yaletown Park, which makes it almost feel hidden. The patio is nice and would be an especially good place to sit if you want to dog-watch since the park is very popular with dogs. There's no dedicated kids menu but it's a family-friendly environment. There's table service, but it's very casual. My waitress was super nice. It's not a dedicated vegan pizza place but they make a great vegan pizza here. I ordered the Vegan Dream, which came with lots of toppings - the mixed mushroom assortment was nice. Thin crust with beautifully pillowy edges. They provide Italian hot sauce and chili oil as condiments; I've never seen this hot sauce before and I really liked it, although the pizza was also very nice without the added heat so I was alternating sauces with and without the hot sauce. Their vegan cheese is pretty close to the real thing. This is the only Ignite location to offer small 10" pizzas - the other locations only have medium or large whole pizza, or slices. No slices here. They also have a small selection of Uno Gelato, both small personal cups and pints. The salted caramel was great as expected. It would be nicer presentation-wise if they served scooped gelato, and I wonder if this would be more cost-effective since they could buy bigger containers? Of course, it still tastes great and they are a pizzeria, not an ice cream shop, so I'm not...

I've ordered twice before from Ignite Yaletown, two pizzas each time, and was so impressed with the quality! Being able to customize the pizzas and get exactly what I want, quick and prompt service, always a 5/5 experience. And then tonight ... I've ordered this combination before: tomato sauce, forest mushrooms, mushrooms, caramelized onions, vegan mozza, vegan ricotta. It was a huge, soggy disaster where the toppings slid off. The crust was very soft and thin and nothing stuck to it. My pizza experience ended up being a crust, with a side of toppings. The only way to consume this pizza was with a spoon. So disappointing, as only a month earlier, this same order resulted in a delicious pizza that was enjoyed outside on a picnic table. Not sure what went wrong -- too much sauce? Different heat setting ...? Strangely enough, the other pizza in our order was fully intact and looking as it should.

I previously considered Ignite Pizzeria the best place to order from. Tonight soured my experience. Hoping this was a one-off lack of quality, and will try again...
