It's taken me over a week to write this review because I've been simply trying to overcome the sadness of leaving Smithe House & Vancouver đ!
If you're thinking of booking a stay here - I can tell you that I can 11/10 recommend Smithe House! It was a perfect 9 days from start to finish.
Here's my mini review đïž:
Check-In: Was so simple & straightforward. You get a code emailed to you on the day of your arrival to access the building, parking, lift & your apartment. We paid for early check-in & luckily we got a message to say our apartment was ready around 1pmish which we were so thankful for after a long travel day!
Location: Where Smithe House is located downtown is perfect, you're within walking distance to lots of shops & there's plenty of bars/restaurants/cafes all around the area. The skytrain station in Yaletown is less than a 10 minute walk away & there are bus stops nearby too!
Our Apartment: We had 1 bedroom apartment which was clean, modern & cosy! We had a lovely view & even though we were overlooking the street we didn't hear any noise from outside. We also didn't hear anyone else in the other apartments - the building is so quiet!
The kitchen had everything we needed to cook with - utensils, pots, pans, dishes etc. There's a fridge/freezer, oven, coffee machine & microwave. It was so handy to have a kitchen so we could make breakfast or cook dinner if we didn't want to eat out.
The bathroom was also beautiful, & the shower was stocked with plenty of shampoo, conditioner & body wash (which was so nice btw!) If you wanted to do any washing whilst you were there - there was a washing machine, dryer and steam-iron. The bed was soooooooooo comfy, & we had ample cupboard/drawer space to hang up our clothes.
I could go on forever & ever, but on a final note I want to say that the communication/service from everyone at Smithe House was second to none - before we arrived, during our stay & even after.
Everyone we were in touch with was so friendly, we felt welcomed, safe & it was nice to know that if we needed anything someone would be there to help or answer any questions we had.
Overall, we just absolutely loved our stay at Smithe House, it honestly just felt like home after a week & we didn't want to leave! We were having a great time pretending we lived in Vancouver đđ!
We cannot wait to go back!!
So if you're thinking of booking Smithe House - go do it right now...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of staying at The Smithe House during Christmas week, and it was the perfect choice for our family! We were looking for a spacious place with a kitchen and living area, but after hours of searching on short-term rental sites, everything we found was either overpriced or didnât meet our needs.
We were visiting my daughter in Vancouver, and since my son was staying with us, having two bedrooms was essentialâhe definitely didnât want to spend Christmas on a pull-out couch. Thatâs when I stumbled upon The Smithe House, and it turned out to be exactly what we were looking forâat a fantastic price!
The location is ideal, and the apartment itself is spacious and thoughtfully designed. It featured two comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a full kitchen with brand new appliances and everything we needed for cooking. The cozy living space was perfect for unwinding, and we even enjoyed many rounds of Christmas games at the dining table.
The bed was incredibly cozy, with perfect pillows that made it easy to get a great nightâs sleep, and the bathroom amenities were top-notch. I was also pleasantly surprised by how smooth everything was without the need for a front desk. Any questions I had were quickly answered via text by the staff, who were always prompt and friendly.
I canât say enough good things about The Smithe House and will definitely be booking here again on my next visit to Vancouver. I wish every city had a gem like this. Thank you, Smithe House, for making our Christmas stay so special and for providing a true home...
Read moreGreat location! Located in Yaletown near restaurants and shops. Clean and beautiful modern interiors. Provided all we need for a nightâs stay with a bigger group. It was a pleasant stay for my birthday. We booked two of their family sweets and both were spacious enough to allow us to gather and spend time with each other. Communication is clear and staff were quick to reply to your messages about different inquiries from when you book the room to when you leave. BC residence can get a 15% off deal too! The only down side is that parking is pricy, $39.06 per night and thereâs no way around it. But, there are other parking lots around the area that is possible. I just had to pay for convenience. Accessing the building was convenient as well. They send you a code to get into the building, the parking garage, the elevators, and the rooms. Note for the elevators, punch in the code before you hit the level you want to go to, or else you might have an issue of getting to your floor. Extra note. If you have a person sleeping on the sofa bed, make sure the ask for an extra blanket because it can get cold and the provided blanket might not be warm enough. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, a nice home away from home, everyone is respectful and itâs a nice quiet building to be in. I just wonât come stay all the time because of how much it costs to stay here. Youâll really get the good service for how...
