Kozu is a new (circa ~Nov 2020) unique Asian fusion cloud/ghost kitchen, so they only offer delivery or pickup (no brick-and-mortar storefront). Just place an order online, call them when you arrive, and a staff member will bring your sushi pizza out to you. There’s plenty of parking nearby as well. Sushi pizza actually originated in Toronto, Canada. Move over poutine, you’ve been demoted. REVIEW: I tried the Scorching Scallop Sushi Pizza (w/ Crispy Rice) $13.99 There’s chopped scallop and imitation crab meat, topped with hand-torched spicy mayo on a bed of crispy rice. Crispy rice (deep fried rice, instead of regular rice) is an additional $0.49 which is definitely worth it. I absolutely loved the crunchy deep fried sweet potato and tangy lemon zest on top. The lemon-y taste & daikon radish on the side balances out the deep-fried rice and rich spicy mayo sauce very well. It definitely has a spicy kick to it. It’s basically an open faced Aburi sushi, with deep fried rice. Each bite is a saucy flavour explosion, with a good portion of toppings too. STORY: I had a chance to chat with the founder, Andrew, when I picked up my order. It’s nice to hear about the passionate humans working tireless behind the brand, especially during these tough unprecedented pandemic times. He has a great attitude and professionalism, with a very enthusiastic and vibrant energy which definitely influences Kozu’s overall branding. As a young aspiring entrepreneur and recent university graduate, he started this cloud kitchen with a group of cousins which initially started as just a small idea. Family keeps us strong through tough times, and they bonded and grew together while turning this passion project into a tangible business operation. They’re pioneers in bringing this unique and tasty creation to Vancouver, and I definitely think this has a huge potential to become the “next big thing”. Keep your eye out for their promos/deals, but remember to order directly from them if you can, as delivery platforms (eg. UberEats, SkipTheDishes) take a huge cut of commission which is detrimental to these small local businesses.

Overall: 5/5 Package: 5/5 Taste: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 5/5 Fresh: 5/5 Price: 4.5/5 My Uber Eats order took 30mins to arrive. The food still came warm! That's when you know it's freshly made~ Seems like they only do delivery or pick ups. Anyone wanting to try, have that in mind Rice taste fresh for both dishes! I have eaten in many restaurants and rice quality is the first thing I taste. They make sure the ingredients in the food is even so the flavour explodes in your mouth. When I took a bite out of that crispy rice pizza, my mouth was in heaven. The green pepper in the middle of the pizza went really well with the sushi pizza! My preference is to have an even spread of spice in my mouth; so next time I will ask them to spread that green pepper. But first time eating it the way it was made is good! That surprise burning sensation made the sushi pizza taste 200% better! I felt like if that Crab Aburi Sushi Pizza wasnt crispy, it wouldn't taste as good as I rated it. But if you want your rice crispy, you have to pay extra. I dont think that should even be an option. Crispy rice all the way! The crispy rice fee deducted 0.5 points from price score. I have never rated a restaurant so high. This was like 95% perfect! This is my first time trying sushi pizza and I was not dissapointed. Keep up the good work! Will definitely order from you guys again!

Unique concept and came here after seeing it posted a few times by various accounts on Instagram. I love pizza and sushi so this was a no brainer for me to try. I ordered the Aburified Sushi Pizza ($13.99) which had a thin layer of smoke salmon and aburi sauce torched on. The flavor from the smoked salmon was definitely very tasty and the sauce incorporated well with it. I wouldn't say its better than aburi sushi but the taste was very similar. However, I wish that the salmon pieces were slightly thicker or a few slices on top more. I paid the extra to get the crispy crust but thought that the crust was a bit on the oily side and was not all that crispy either. It was almost a bit stale tasting at least for my liking (I also did eat this pizza the moment I got to my car after receiving the order). Felt that I was just eating a oily rice with some panko bits. Maybe I got a bad batch as it was extremely busy that day. The customer service was pretty good. The person who answered the phone sounded enthusiastic and when I was waiting outside I was greeted with a big smile while being given my order. I will be back to try the other flavors and give it another chance before my final verdict.

I placed an order through their website a couple weeks ago and tried their Scorching Scallop Pizza, Sanfransokyo Pizza, and Takoyumi Pizza all with crispy rice. Each pizza has approximately 4 slices, which is probably enough for one person. Also got some add-ons such the miso soup, salad, lemonade, and spicy sashimi sauce. On their website they have an option for curbside pick up which is nice, no need to leave your car. Earliest pick up is at noon. There was already a long lineup when I got there. Not many places to park so a lot of cars pulled over to the side. The wait wasn't too bad considering one person was handling the orders.

Scorching Scallop - yummy, has a spicy kick to it. My family members and I liked this one the best.

Sanfransokyo - not sure if it was because I ate this one last but the flavors of the other two sushi pizzas were so strong that it over shadowed this one. I did eat ginger between each slice to cleanse the palate. My sister said that it tastes better with the spicy sashimi sauce - will have to try this one again.

Takoyumi - the flavors are exactly like takoyaki, but there wasn't much octopus on it. Still enjoyable though.

Lemonade - really enjoyed the drink, it was such a hot day out. I went for a walk after eating and it was still icy cold for me when I got back. Pretty large drink and a good deal for an add-on.

Salad and miso soup - had this the next day for lunch because I ordered takeout to surprise my family with food and a visit but they had already eaten lunch. 🥲 it was still yummy the next day. Salad wasn't soggy or dry after a day.

There was a handwritten note in my order which is really nice. Love supporting small businesses, especially during...

WOW! What an amazing dining experience from KOZU Sushi Pizza! I was asked by a client to try KOZU for a takeout lunch and took a quick look @ their website. Their site is easy to navigate and you can order directly or via Door Dash. I chose to order directly from them and went for the Ninja Turtles Feast (yes that's the name of the combo!) plus two Maui Poke Bowls. I noticed that the Maui Poke Bowls were out of stock so I called them directly to see if they could make it. They informed me that they were just waiting for some ingredients to make the poke bowl and the website would be updated shortly. After a short wait I ordered the items above and completed my order online, which was very easy. When your order is confirmed, you get directions to their location, which is a cloud based kitchen (very cool!) along with a text message confirmation and a phone number to call when you arrive.

I chose to pickup @ noon but I received a text that my order would be ready @12:15 pm, no problem! I called the number and I think Andrew the owner came out with my order promptly. There were LOTS of other people waiting outside for various orders as the building the KOZU operates has many similar type of cloud based kitchens. Andrew offered to load my order into my vehicle and was genuinely thankful for my order.

Their service is amazing and the food tasted delicious! I will definitely be back to order again! An excellent example of a hard working crew to support during these challenging times. Thank you to Andrew and the staff of KOZU Sushi Pizza! #supportlocal ...
