Read moreWent there for the first time. It was about 45 mins before closing when we arrived and pretty busy. The initial server was friendly and helpful. We ordered serveral drinks and food including ceviche, tostadas, tacos and “sushi”. The seafood was very good and pretty authentic. The sushi however was terrible. The kitchen was closing and it came out extremely burnt. I explained to the second server that it was over cooked and sent it back after taking a bite. No apology or anything, but when the bill came, I asked why I was charged for it and she replied “you asked for it”. I didn’t want to cause a a scene, but found it extremely unacceptable. She rolled her eyes and walked to the back where she spoke to some man. Came back a few minutes later and threw the invoice on the table with the item removed. The seafood was good, but this server had a terrible attitude. For that reason alone I don’t think we...
Read moreI've been coming here since they've opened at their original location. They've been losing its touch since they started to expand. It's a shame as these folks had hit the nail as they offer something different to the average traditional Mexican fare that you find in Vancouver.
The food is good. Pretty close to what they aim for (Mexican pacific style seafood). My issue with them is that the portions are becoming smaller and pricier with time. Flavor wise is bold and tasty. Careful when you ask for additional sauces, they will charge you a hefty extra for this.
Booze is super expensive here - be especially mindful if you order a michelada as they will overcharge you for it.
The reason why you see it full all the time is because of local Mexicans: they will pay whatever it costs to get a ceviche like back home and the owner takes advantage of this. This is pretty common with any latin restaurant.
The ambiance is ok, and the service is pretty decent. Just be careful with what you order as you might end up paying way more...
