My friend and I came here not expecting much. We were in the area and wanted to explore. Upon entering it was a very loud crowd. The energy is high and seating was limited since it was a weekend night. Our server recommends the bar, which is fine. Our bartender was extremely friendly and gave recommendations. Let me tell ya, the margaritas are insanely HUGE here. It's the size of your head! My Mexican friend had told me it's true, the margaritas are huge and the drinks specials are fantastic! We ordered the fish tacos, and the Mexican vegan dish. The fish tacos were wonderful and the vegan Mexican dish was delicious. Our food literally came to us in 5 mins. That is fast ! As soon as we ordered I went to the washroom, came back out and my food was ready lol. Hey no complaints! I was starving 🤣 This place is a great place to socialize over drinks and food. Food is tasty. Would I come back? Yes of course, for the same dishes, and perhaps the nachos. The only downside was that the neighbourhood can be sketchy so just be careful at night. It didn’t discourage us from trying something new of course.

Ordered combo #6 which featured a chorizo chimichanga, beef quesadilla, beans, rice, and salad. The chimichanga was outstanding. Perfectly cooked and delicious. The (half) quesadilla was also spectacular. The meal itself was not spicy to exactly my liking (I usually put ghost pepper flakes on my Mexican food - yes I like it super spicy) There were a couple bottles of hot sauce on the table, however none of them were that hot at all. But, the unnamed house hot sauce was very delicious and well rounded, just not that hot. The meal also came with a set of fried chips and some dips. One was a nice light spice dip, the other was an interesting egg and avocado or cilantro dip. Also, the table water came in a really cool (what looked like) tequila bottle. We also ordered the fish tacos and loved it! Would highly recommend going here.

OUR FAVORITE!! We searched all evening (last minute after 9PM) for Latin American food for my niece on her 14th birthday. They came from Miami to Vancouver to stay since Christmas and every outing has been awful! We walked out of a few locations on a night out, due to unfriendly customer service. we FINALLY had a successful and accidental find of this place tonight at 9:30PM on a Tuesday night! WOW I'm absolutely recommending this place to all! Our server Omar was extremely helpful and nice. He made her a special virgin Pina Colada in a giant Fish Bowl and even brought out candle lit churro and helped us sing Happy Birthday! This place went above and beyond anything we've seen since being here.. We found our new favorite place and with a wonderful menu and beautiful atmosphere right in the heart of gas town, it can't be beat!

This used to be one of my fav restaurants in Vancouver. Service has always been slow bringing the bill, but today I waited 20 minutes for no apparent reason (the guy wasn't busy, I was one of only two patrons in the place). They also don't bring you chips and salsa anymore, my guacamole had numerous pieces of avocado skin and the hard stem in it, and for a large chimichanga plate, guacamole, and a mocktail my bill was $50. That is ridiculous to me, even in Vancouver, and even with inflation.

EDIT: In response to their reply to me, I am changing my review to be less generous.

To answer their ridiculous questions: Is it my job to "clearly ask for the bill?" But yes, I did.

No, I was referring only to the "side of guacamole" that I ordered. For $8 apparently.

I clearly stated "mocktail," not a cocktail. I had the Philly Temple.

Am I "aware" that the large chimi plate comes with rice and beans and salad? Yes of course I'm aware, that's what I had.

$8 for chips and salsa is ridiculous, as is $8 for a side of guacamole.

There are many mexican restaurants where I can get the same amount of food for less than $50. I had an entree, a SIDE of guacamole, and a nonalcoholic beverage and it came to $50. I understand rent is expensive, but in my opinion the value and quality has decreased significantly over the past 8 years that I've been a patron, and now because of the tone of your reply I will never be back.

For the record, I have also ordered delivery through various apps over the years and I have NEVER had my order be correct from this restaurant. This last visit was the...

I came to La Casita with a group of 9 and was greatly disappointed by the service.

After we placed our orders, the server placed salsa on each side of the long table and some chips and guac on our side without saying a word. We assumed these were complimentary, especially since salsa was provided for both sides. However, when the other side of the table didn’t receive any chips, we realized this must have been an order for someone in our group. We asked the server if she could clarify if this was someone's order, and she said she would check. 10 minutes pass and no one has updated us. We decided to get another order of chips and guac as we felt bad for eating someone else's order. We did not get an apology or acknowledgement of error despite the server placing someone's order in the middle of the table instead of directly in front of the person who ordered it.

It also took around 20 minutes for us to get our drink orders. This felt excessive as we only ordered a few beers, horchatas, and a cocktail.

When it came to paying, the server handed the first receipt to the wrong person, who handed it to the correct person. The server then proceeded to hand each receipt to same person who had to distribute the receipts to the correct person. I can understand if she did not remember who ordered what, but it is not a guest's responsibility to figure this out.

Overall, I was unhappy with my experience and do not recommend...

I've eaten here multiple times over the past couple of years, and the service is usually great. However, after my recent visit, I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I understand it was a busy weekend night, but I couldn’t help but notice that larger tables were prioritized while smaller ones, like ours, were overlooked. After our food was served, our server barely checked on us, and we had to ask another staff member multiple times just to get water.

What made things worse was that I had invited my boss, who was visiting from overseas and excited to try Mexican food for the first time. Unfortunately, we found hair in her meal—twice. Since our server was so busy, we informed another staff member, who simply took the dish away. She then asked if my boss wanted a complimentary dessert or drink, but she declined.

When the bill arrived, they still charged us for my boss’s meal. Given the situation, I told them it should be removed—not only was it unappetizing, but she didn’t even finish it. They eventually took it off the bill, but that was it—no real apology or effort to make things right.

For the prices on their menu, they should have better quality food, cleaner preparation, and higher hygiene standards. This experience was disappointing, and I won’t be returning. The kitchen staff should really wear hairnets to prevent this from...
