A fabulous place to visit, to remember it forever after the visit, to wish for repeated visits.
To start with elevator ride it self is fun, don't forget to make a vid as memoir.
As you start looking out from top, you are mesmerized with the views all around.
This is Canada - You have it all - from the 360 coverage from the top of downtown. It covers what not - the economy - powerful financial corporates like banks, software power houses like microsoft and EY, earning business of export - shipping lines, trans canada train links, long distance planes (Lufthansa from Europe) landing on Vancouver airport, long distance buses seen covering thousands of kilometres - sleepers with on board kitchen, wash facilities, faith - cathedral, hospitality - five stars with on roof swimming pools and complete with Canadian flag, highly profitable tourism - sea planes and cruises, nature - sea to high mountains of Pacific coast, Canadian Rockies and wildlife - whales sprays (may not be clear in this video), albatrosses and lot more.
Make a time lapse if you are on it. It takes around 50 mins to complete the revolution.
Love it and will visit again with friends.
There is a revolving restaurant too that offers same view, excellent food and nice service, so if you want to enjoy dining while the city revolves around you, you might care to visit. Check for happy hours that is less crowded and offeres a better chance to sit close to glass and have unrestricted...
Read moreThe Vancouver Lookout is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best spots within downtown Vancouver to get a good 360° view of the city itself, its skyline and the surrounding areas from above without getting on a seaplane or a helicopter. Beautiful views of nature from up above too.
They keep the windows clean, allowing their customers to take clear pictures. The lookout is easy to get to on foot from the Waterfront Skytrain station and Canada Place. More importantly, the tickets to enter is reasonably priced too and can be done online too where they email you QR code versions of the tickets.
All staff members that we interacted with were friendly, helpful and happy to address any queries we have. Inside the tower itself, it’s very clean, comfortable and cool, which is appreciated during our visit which was the middle of the day during a heatwave.
I wish they were open a bit later and I’m personally willing to pay a bit extra to see Vancouver from above around dusk and during the summer months on a clear day. This would be a good spot too to look at the pretty city lights at night.
I liked the informative plaques at the observation deck and the view of the gorgeous harbor from the observation deck. Definitely a good spot to watch the sunset (depending on the time of the year of course). Well worth your...
Read moreWhenever my husband visit a new city, we like to check out their observation decks. Unfortunately, this one was kind of wack. We came by on a Monday at around 12:30, and it was pretty empty. After visiting, I can see why because it was very underwhelming. We spent maybe about 20 minutes in total up there. It's a 360 deck, and they try to point out landmarks/key spots. However, most of the spots they are pointing out are actually covered by other buildings. The plaque will say something like "Gastown is behind XYZ building" without actually being able to see Gastown (just using Gastown as an example). Maybe the observation deck was built before all the other buildings came and covered it up but I don't think it really has any business calling itself an observation deck if it isn't going to be tall enough for you to see a lot of things. Tickets are $18 CAD, which isn't cheap considering what views you are getting. There are also ticketing fees if you go and buy it in person, and I believe on their direct site too. So it's actually slightly cheaper if you purchase via a third party site, like Viator, which is what we ended up doing when we got there.
I wouldn't recommend this as an activity. Save your time...
