So we went to this cafe on a busy Sunday at around noon. We went in and there were half a dozen people waiting at the entrance. A nice customer told us that we need to go inside to let them know we are in line because they don't come out and ask us, as they were extremely busy. So I walked to the counter that is located at the far end of the cafe to talk to the boss lady. I told her how many people we have and my last name. At the end I asked her how long the wait is. She answered "we will give you a table when one is available" (I cannot translate the subtle rudeness in English. But if you speak Cantonese, then you probably know how she said it).
As for the food quality, it's way worse than Amigo (which is owned by the same owner). For example, this "soy sauce chicken wing" we had. The wings were served on a shallow bowl instead of a plate. Why? Because the soy sauce was not yet fully cooked onto the wings' skin, so they were served in a bowl filled with soy sauce. The wings were only partially brown, with pale white spots scattered all over. They looked like they have skin problem. The taste is just as bad as they look. Not even dipping in the bowl of soy sauce can save the tastelessness. I can't believe they serve me unfinished food like this. Well, I guess Mandarin cafe got the bad chef and Amigo got to keep the better one.
The one star is for the 2 hard working waitresses...
Read moreJust moved to the area and decided to check out this restaurant. My girlfriend and I walked in at 9:30 pm assuming they close at 11. As soon as we walk in they inform me that there is no rice left. All meals would have to be replaced by either pasta or noodles. Which is fine. We were rushed to order our food, but quickly decided. 10 minutes later our food arrives and after a few bites, they bring the bill to the table and basically make me pay. By 9:50 all the workers are standing outside watching my girlfriend and I eat, making us feel awkward and rushed. By 10:00 we finish eating and one of the waitresses comes up to us and urges us to take our drink to go. I brought up that their closing time is 11 online, but they insisted that they close at 10 pm and that they have no online website or references. I argued that they should of told me that they were closing at 10, that way I would have just ordered food to go, or simply have come back another day. Instead I feel like we were used to finish off the left over food and to earn a couple of quick bucks. I'm confident to say, I will never come back nor will I recommend this restaurant. The food wasn't...

I went here with my toddlers they are very well behaved and have excellent manners. We ordered food but even before then they were annoyed that my children were with me. When they came to take our order the waitress snatched the menu out of my child's hand and yelled at them because they were being " too rough".
I ordered soup and an avocado sandwich. I wanted to order just french fries for my children but they would not let me.
The food was bland and very boring. Like hospital food but worse.
They charged too much for what they give you and when I went to go pay I was informed that I needed to either pay with cash or debit because they had a $35 minimum for you to use a credit card.
I don't have cash on me and I use my credit card for most of things so I told them sorry this is what I have and the waitress happily rung me up on their credit card machine which means there really is no reason to have a minimum of $35 for their credit card machine.
It's a pity because I generally like Hong Kong cafe food but this is really just a disappointing...
