Panos Greek Taverna — Restaurant in Vancouver

I actually don't really like this place, but I don't really have a valid reason why not. You know how sometimes its just a feeling you get when you eat at a restaurant?

Cons: The server had very bad breath. I'm a dental assistant. So if I say it stinks, it stinks. Unappetizing. The same server mentioned above breathed heavily with his mouth wide open onto our food as he was serving it to us. He explained it was cuz "the plates were hot." Gross! The food took almost 45 min to come out and there were only like 3 other tables of customers. My Kalamari was cold. My plate was cold. But it tasted alright. So... why was he heavily breathing onto our food then ??? I didn't wanna ask.

Pros: The lamb shoulder was really good The stinky breath server tried to be a friendly/funny server. It wasn't necessarily his fault that we actually found him slightly annoying.

Not sure but it seems the Chinese owner isn't doing well these days. The lady which could be his wife is very nice and offers great suggestions. The food is average quality and often menu items are out of stock. Portion size are slightly below average. Most definitely not huge. Are these influencers or paid endorsementa saying otherwise? Too much carbs served and not enough salad. I've had worse Greek food. Two and half stars. I don't expect them to be around much longer.

Previous review below: Atmosphere is really tacky...way too dark. Authentic music is from a very tiny stereo. Some oriental dude is the chef and owner of this place. He's owned it for many years.

Staff has always been very friendly even though there is high turnover. I guess the owner is a cheap mofo.

Food is decent, not overpriced. Greek Salad is rather small, not much flavor. It needs more vinegar and olive oil.

This may look old and tired outside but is actually an awesome place. We came at 6pm on weekday and it was really quiet there, the laminated flooring is uneven but the colors of the inside is bright. We got served right away. I like how they separated the salads on the plate that served an appetizer while waiting for our meal. My daughter ordered the kalamari dinner which is crisp and properly coated and warm same thing with my order, beef souvlaki (med.rare) both tasted great and not salty at all. The rice pilaf is properly seasoned which complimented the taste of both kalamari and beef. I recommend this place because of their flavourful dishes and how refreshing and appetizing it is.
