I visited around 10:00 PM on June 10, and the experience started off quite poorly. There was a greeter at the front, but he didn’t greet us properly—no smile, no welcome. She just pointed to a table without saying a word. Shortly after, another girl came over, placed the menus on the table without making eye contact, no “hello,” no “welcome,” nothing. The overall attitude from the front staff was cold and unprofessional, She looked like she didn’t want to be there at all. Her body language was cold and dismissive, which made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. It honestly felt like we were bothering her just by walking in. If someone doesn’t want to engage with customers, they shouldn’t be the first face people see when they enter
As someone who works as a manager in customer service, I know how important that first interaction is. A warm greeting sets the tone for the entire experience. There was no effort from the front staff to make us feel welcomed or valued. Their lack of basic hospitality reflects poorly on the overall service standard and could easily drive customers away.
That said, once our server arrived, the experience improved. He was professional, friendly, and attentive throughout the meal. The food was also good, and the service was quick, which I appreciate.
But front-of-house service is just as important as what happens at the table. I hope management addresses this because first impressions matter—and in this case, it was...
Read moreOur dine-in experience at The View Dosa Hub yesterday was unfortunately quite disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the lack of basic hospitality was evident – we weren't greeted by any staff. It took a frustrating 15 minutes for someone to even come to our table to take our order, and then another 25 minutes for the food to arrive. When our food finally did come, the disappointment continued. We ordered both a Masala Dosa and a Paneer Masala Dosa. We were particularly looking forward to the Paneer Masala Dosa, expecting the flavorful paneer stuffing we've enjoyed at other restaurants. However, we were surprised to find that it was essentially just the regular masala dosa with some shredded paneer mixed in with the standard potato filling. Considering this cost almost $5 more than a regular masala dosa, it felt like a significant rip-off for what amounted to very little added value. Other establishments typically offer a distinct paneer stuffing, often cooked with other vegetables and and spices, making the price difference justifiable. Overall, the slow service and the underwhelming food made for a truly disappointing visit. We won't...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with my visit to Dosa Hub this afternoon. A few weeks ago I arrived at 5 pm and was served the non veg thali. However, today when I arrived at 5 pm, the waitress appeared very confused and told me that the thali was only available at lunchtime. I had driven from quite far away and was very disappointed. No consistency at this restaurant. Kindly train your staff to be accommodating to their customers. Being flexible to your customers is key to survival in Vancouver where there are lots of good choices in Indian restaurants. What makes your restaurant unique is your choice to serve thalis which tasted delicious. However, i was not so lucky tbis time and was not able to have a thali for this visit. If you are rigid with your service times, customers will not bother to patronise your restaurant. Be smart and be flexible - this will go a long way to keeping customers happy & bringing their family and friends over and over again. You are a unique restaurant -...
