A new restaurant opened where Yifang used to be. The location is definitely hard to find and easy to miss. The interior is super bare bones with just one high table, no chairs, two ordering kiosks and a pick up window. Looks like they only want you to do take out. Wait time for food is minimal, it looks like they have everything cooked already, so they just need to scoop and package. The menu is all cheap HK eats like what you will find at the Richmond night market, nothing too healthy or nutritious, but the menu is priced well. Portion size is also fair. In terms of taste, it’s exactly as you can imagine, you’re eating fish balls or indomie instant noodle. It is a very basic food operation, and they did nothing wrong at all. Read moreI've been missing some of the HK style street foods forever and finally tried this newly opened "cafe". This is really a place for take out only as they don't have tables/chairs for sit down. You go to the booth to place the order, and the food will be ready in 5 mins. I ordered HK style milk tea, the lettuce & fish paste soup, as well as fish siu mai. Everything is super tasty, with very generous portion. Their HK style milk tea is very smooth and silky, the fish siu mai spicy but flavorful, and the soup is the bomb! I used to have this soup in HK growing up, and this is so close to what I used to have in HK. Everything under $20 for meal for two! I will definitely be a regular here....
Read moreHoly cow! Thank you Smart N Save Cafe for opening up a snack shop that is not only super affordable but the food is actually very delicious! We heard about this eatery on social media recently and coincidentally passing by the area. The restaurant/cafe is a self serve kiosk model with no seating just a bar ledge near the front doors. The menu was easy to navigate and ordering from the kiosk was surprisingly easy. We ordered the rice rolls with curry balls and siu mai, imitation shark fin soup with fish paste and a hot Hong Kong style milk tea. 3 items total under $17 dollars what a bargain! The food was fresh and tasty. Soup was piping hot and the rest delicious! Would return daily...
