Freshslice Pizza — Restaurant in Vancouver

Ordered a TooGoodToGo package on Friday at 5:31PM with three left in stock, arrived at the store shortly after 7PM to pick up my order for dinner. I was told to swipe the order to collect to then be told that they "sold out" of the TooGoodToGo packages, and was asked to come back the next day.

I understand that there are logistical issues with TooGoodToGo, but shouldn't the venue honour the deal given that it was 7PM and they had a display case full of pizza? Why is the customer inconvenienced to come back the next day, spend another 20 minutes commuting, ruining their dinner and next day plans if the issue could be easily resolved? I voiced these issues to the staff that this ruined my dinner plans, and there was no empathy shown. As they forced me to swipe to pickup, there were also no avenues for me to get a refund, and I was forced to come back the next day.

I was also promised that if I came back the next day, I would be given "extra slices" to compensate for this inconvenience, and I reluctantly agreed as they didn't provide any other solution. As expected, the order was exactly the same size as any other TooGoodToGo order. Out of principle, this is not how businesses should conduct themselves, tricking their customers to resolve their own shortsighted issues that could be easily resolved. And of course, the pizza! Always fresh, always delicious. You can taste the quality in every bite from the crispy crust to the flavourful toppings. It's comfort food made with heart, and it keeps me coming back.
