I used to visit this location when it was a different establishment (sports bar). Until one day, I realized it was suddenly a Mexican restaurant. I walked in and asked for the menu to see what was being offered. When I looked at the prices, I was shocked. They were so high. I was so hungry though and was willing to try anything so I tried to find the cheapest option on the menu. That turned out to be just one taco with a side of refried beans. It came up to about $12 before tax and tip. I ordered the Veggie Pastor taco without pineapple.
When the food arrived, the presentation was glorious. Even though it was just one taco, they served it on a wooden board with a couple of sauces and it just looked amazing. The refried beans were topped with melted cheese.
The taco itself was one of the most delicious tacos I have ever had in my life. It was at this point that I looked around the place and saw all the signs saying "Authentic Mexican Food". I really felt like I teleported to another world in that moment. The mushrooms just had the most amazing flavor that I cannot even describe! I cannot even imagine what their more authentic tacos taste like.
The refried beans were so delicious with the cheese. Midway though they lost some flavor.
I cannot wait to visit again and try many more tacos. Just keep in mind that it is quite expensive and if you order drinks, your bill is going to be QUITE high. I personally would only order food from here and get cheap drinks from the Cambie Bar & Grill...
Read moreWent here after walking by the day before and thinking this cutesy place was exactly where I wanted to be. Ordered a frozen flight of margs. This is on the menu, as most of the margaritas to order are frozen. After I ordered, the server came back and said the machine wasn't working. I order a regular margarita. She then comes back 5 minutes later and says the machine is working and would I like my flight. I say sure. My friend gets her drink (a house marg) and says its awful. She also says she can see that my "flight" is sitting on the counter buts its just the flavors and the bartender cannot figure out the slushee machine. Then she says...maybe not, as he made two regular frozen margaritas and game them to someone else. After 15 minutes, and not receiving my flight, I got to the server and said my friend doesn't like her drink and we will actually be leaving. We had ordered queso and offered to pay but the manager did come out and apologize and tell us to leave without paying for the food. He was also saying there was a problem with the machine, but we had watched two more frozen margaritas go out. I'm not sure what was going on on this day but not sure I...
Read moreI had a very frustrating and disappointing experience at this place and will never be coming back.
I made a reservation over the phone for the Canelo fight and was shocked when the bill included a $40 cover charge that was never mentioned on the phone or at the entrance. After a long discussion with the manager, it was removed but it should not have been there in the first place.
Then the new bill had an 18% automatic gratuity for simply bringing six Smirnoff Ice bottles to a table of two, with terrible service where I had to repeatedly ask for drinks. Tipping should reflect service, not be forced. When I questioned this, the server said “that’s how it is.”
Finally, after I refused the auto gratuity, the bill came back with an extra $8 charge for “drinks” which the server later claimed were “taxes.” This is misleading, unprofessional, and felt very sketchy.
Between the hidden fees, poor service, and dishonest billing practices, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Never...
