This place was not what I expected, as my boyfriend was here weeks ago and he enjoyed the chill and welcoming atmosphere with the views. As someone who’s worked in the hospitality industry myself, I understand it can get busy. I understand how overwhelming it can be with one server on the floor when it gets unexpectedly busy later in the night. But never have I ever been served so poorly and felt SO unwelcome in a place. What was the reason the server was ignoring my friends and I? Was it due to how quiet we were, after being exhausted from being out all day? Was it due to the colour of our skin? Our age? Mind you, we came BEFORE it got busy. I would love to be enlightened, as after numerous attempted contacts of wanting the servers attention, she acknowledged us, but did not approach us. Did not offer to refill drinks. Did not bother to check in on us ONCE. She didn’t even bother to stick around or apologize and say “I’ll be right back” as she hands over our machines to pay. We had to get her attention as she assisted the table near us who came way later than us, and even THEN she did not bother to check up on us. My friend had to walk up to her and physically ask for the bill. Left a bad taste in my mouth. There may have been a reason why this place wasn’t lined up with people the time we went, when the places...
Read moreThe Three Brits is a perfect mix of fantastic service and awesome atmosphere and simply put is the place to be on a friday afternoon to watch the sun set over English Bay with a few friends, your partner or just on your own people watching over the promenade.
The staff here are always positive and genuinely appear to enjoy being at work and I'd like to make a special mention of Doug the manager who has always made an effort to come over and say g'day and will always put a smile on your face. The atmosphere here always seems to be just what we were looking for when we come in and the place always has a warming buzz about it which I believe comes from both the staff and the excellent music soundtracks.
The food has always been good quality with large portions. It's definitely what would be considered pub meals but made well and always filling with a varied menu for all appetites. Though I would normally stick to lager I have found there is a tremendous selection of beers, spirits, ciders and wine with fantastic happy hour deals.
Trivia night on a Wednesday is a must and I have enjoyed many a gladiatorial battle of the minds with rival tables
To summarise, if you want to go somewhere for a drink that feels a bit like "home", get...
Read moreThe View is spectacular. This is where the good part ends. I came in on a quite Friday afternoon. Sit down by myself. Server is there within a few mins which is just fine. After getting me a drink she takes my order. I ask for a sandwich with no tomato and add cheese. Now I know this can be annoying for cooks and servers but when your paying 16 bucks for a sandwich a couple of small requests shouldn't be hard. Of course she comes back with tomato on the sandwich and no cheese. Because I had just caught on that there was a half sandwich deal on right after I ordered and quickly downsized to the half before she could punch it in. She comes out with a full sandwich. I said well that is great but there is tomato and no cheese. I am ok with mistakes but it is how it is handled is how I decide to react next. After I had suggested just take the tomato off and just add the cheese (Im getting hungry here and have things to do) she says." Oh well we may be able to use this for someone else, we will have to make you a new sandwich and this time it will just be the half." ok here is 5 bucks for my drink I am out of here. I just hate when restaurants make you look like the whiner cause they cannot take your...
