This review doesn’t reflect the food we received (which was good for the most part).
My review is mostly centred around the service we received yesterday. Prior to dining yesterday, we had ordered take out from Beeryani and we were very keen to dine in here. Came here with my friends, who were visiting Van from across the border. They seated the 6 of us at one of the tables near the door.
The music was blaring around 90 Db. I requested one of the staff members to kindly lower the volume as it was painfully loud for all of us and that it is amplifying my tinnitus. They said they can’t do anything about it as they are hosting a karaoke night in 15 mins (~8PM). The music kept blaring for the entire time we were there and it wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. Had we been told this at the time of check-in, we would’ve gone elsewhere as we just wanted to sit in tranquility and enjoy our meal.
During the entire duration of the meal, not once did anyone attend our table other than the times different kitchen staff members brought our order. They brought half of our order first (rice) and then made us wait for another 15 minutes for the remainder (curry). Sure, I understand that you’re busy but a little judgement here could have avoided this situation.
Our server was no where to be seen throughout this entire duration when we needed a drink refill or wanted to order any additional items. By the time someone saw us, we were so done with the whole thing that we decided to ask for the check. On top of everything that happened, they added auto-gratuity for our table but quite frankly with the experience we received, by no means we and our guests wanted to tip. I am all game for tipping for ‘good’ or ‘above good’ service but in this case, this was totally unjustified.
This whole experience left a very bad taste for all of us. There are plenty options in the neighbourhood which offer a great dining experience and would love to support a business that cares about their patrons. Wish you...
Read moreBurps, farts and diarrhea that what happened by eating the RAW chicken, tandoori. With the first small bite, we felt the raw chicken smell and told the manager and the owner you can please do it well done? They brought the same after 3 three minutes, and it was RAW; nothing was done to make it cooked. We left the chicken. We also got our raw paneer with raw onion and capsicum in the tandori paneer tika masala. (Basically, there was just masala, and all the raw things were tossed—and that is what most Indian restaurants will do, but that is not how Tandoori Tika masalas are.( They are mostly from TANDOOR!! It's grilled! ) What a shame! They still charged the chicken tikka rather than taking off the bill by showing some curtesy and/or saying sorry. (It's no big deal paying that amount if it is FULLY COOKED!) It's not only the front staff people; it's the chef you choose who makes or breaks the business. Hospitality means 1st Class Standards if you are overcharging or less. If you want to succeed in the hospitality business or any industry, "Kill the people with Service." We heard someone say that in Indian culture, "if a guest comes to your home/restaurant, it means the guest is the God." I'm not sure this is how you treat your guests. PS: It's not the people or country but human behaviour that affects attitude. We happily paid the entire bill plus tips. Thank you again, and I wish you success in...
Read moreThey are very unprofessional and the food might be good if you are lucky as the quality is not maintained the same on each visit. When raised about this problem the staff misrepresented themself and gave the owners name as theirs. This was escalated fuether with the upper management they dont look at this misrepresentation as a problem and were rather rude and bitter about the whole issue starting from poor food quality (burnt and bland food) to this.
This kind of outlook by the management doesn't represent all their staff as a lot of them are very friendly and courteous. The upper management/owner needs to work on this to have a successful team and eventually restaurant.
I would recommend going to another Indian restaurant in west end and avoid taking a chance to ruin your meal/day with such unprofessional management.
Update The owner Mr Sanjay called on my private phone number and starting harrassing me asking "what am I getting leaving the review", when I mentioned that I am trying to share what had happened he went on to say that these reviews don't matter to them or the business and further started ranting on. I had to hang up the call since he starting personally attacking me. Unfortunately even now he has failed to recognize the problem or show...
