review edit I will still say that the food tasted good here, but after the last time, I can never, ever go back here. almost every time I went here, something was wrong. first, it was the food temperature, another time after that - the schnitzel didn't taste like it always and another time a little after that, they gave me couscous straight from the fridge and a hot schnitzel right on top. I called them directly twice to let them know and the first time they actually re did my order again and second time I called, they gave me coffee on the house. that's okay too. but reason why I wont ever go back there, is much more serious then all of the reasons previously. I ordered a schnitzel dinner with rice along with some halloumi sticks. I cannot tell you all how many hairs I found in the rice and INSIDE THE SHNITZEL!!! . not only were there black short hairs, there were white longer hairs. inside the rice! I'd say at least 5 hairs. first few hairs ended up in my mouth because I bit into the schnitzel and had some rice in the same bite. I cannot tell you how disgusting that is. this tells me few things. first and foremost this tells me that the people who work in the kitchen are not wearing hair nets. second thing this tell me is that the manager is not doing his job in ensuring the employees follow the hair net rule. this is one of the things that a manger is supposed to implement and ensure that people follow the food safety guides. I was beyond grossed out and disgusted and a little shocked. for a place that is so busy, I am highly surprised that this happened. I didn't even want to call them directly and talk about this because of how disgusting I felt having other peoples hair in my mouth and food. it still makes me...

Food: 3 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Value: 3 Stars Overall: 3.25 Stars

I visited Cafe Landwer with my boyfriend, and our experience had its ups and downs. We were there on a busy day, and the wait for a table was about 15-20 minutes. Despite the crowd, the staff were very accommodating and managed to get us seated promptly, which was appreciated.

I decided to try the Mighty Matcha smoothie, and it turned out to be a delightful choice. The flavour was perfectly balanced, neither too sweet nor too bitter, making it an enjoyable drink. My boyfriend ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine, which he found to be decent, and he also had a coffee that was just okay.

One of the highlights of our meal was the Halloumi Sticks. They were served with a delicious sauce that complemented the cheese sticks wonderfully, making them a standout dish for us. However, I also ordered the Angel Hair Rosé, and this dish unfortunately fell short of expectations. The pasta was overcooked, and the sauce had an aftertaste that wasn’t particularly pleasant.

The overall atmosphere of the cafe was quite nice. It was clean and had an open, inviting feel to it. The bustling environment added a lively touch to our dining experience.

In conclusion, while there were certainly some high points during our visit, there were a few aspects that could use improvement. The Mighty Matcha smoothie and Halloumi Sticks were definite hits, but the Angel Hair Rosé was a letdown. The service, considering the busy day, was commendable, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. With a few tweaks, this place could easily enhance the overall dining...

It's finally open!

We had high hopes for this "chain" since their Tel Aviv (Israel) locations are excellent!

The decor at atmosphere are unique and charming. Odd choice of table placement (lots of empty space) but it just meant that things seemed more private for us.

Obviously things looked new and clean and the restaurant was nice and bright.

Keep in mind it just opened this week... Service from start to finish was slow and scattered. Our waitress was all over the place helping out tables, didn't seem so efficient.

Other than our main meal coming out well before our appetizer, we really enjoyed the food. Everything was fresh and tasty.

We had the margarita pizza which was soft and tasty. The crust wasn't your typical crunchy cardboard like crust. It was soft but firm enough for pizza. The toppings were great and fresh.

We also had the sweet potato ravioli. Other than the pepper that seemed a. It excessive, it was delicious. I would definitely order it again and again. The portion size was also appropriate considering the price.

The crispy cauliflower appetizer would have been better before the meal but it was decent. Didn't taste oily. Served in tahina.

The best part of the entire meal was the desert. They call them the rozalach- most people would call them rugelach. Either way, they were warm, soft and amazing! Who doesn't love chocolate hazelnut! (Nutella).

The service can only get better once they get more experience, and the food is already fantastic.

My suggestion is go now! Try to go during a quieter time so you don't end up waiting a while for food/service.

I'll...

I’ve been a loyal customer of Cafe Landwer and have always loved their all locations, but this particular branch is a huge disappointment. I visited the Rutherford branch on a Sunday for brunch with five other people, four of them being seniors. The service was chaotic and unorganized, with extra long waits that made the experience unbearable. Despite our patience, our requests and order was neglected, and when it finally arrived, the food was cold and far from the usual quality. The staff seemed overwhelmed and confused. A table across from us arrived about 45 minutes later and served and left and our table was yet to receive two simple brewed coffee. My order was Egg Benedict on a croissant with coffee. In about 30 minutes I was notified that the kitchen ran out of croissants for the day (at 11:30am on a Sunday) and I asked for double toasted toast instead. My order came in with eggs nothing like what it’s supposed to be, cold and under toasted bread without coffee exactly an hour and a half later. I personally served our table with cutlery. Nobody seemed to be interested to serve our table with water although we asked several times throughout our stay. The manager of this branch definitely lacks professionalism and efficiency in training personnel and filling in the kitchen with proper number of skilled staff that makes the other locations so great. This place is completely overrated compared to the rest of the chain, and it’s clear they need serious improvements in managing their service. I’ll be sticking to my favorite locations from now on, this one needs to step up their game.
