Me Va Me — Restaurant in Vaughan

Was looking forward to enjoying a delicious chicken shawarma with my husband after a long, hot day. When we walked in, it was super busy but most places are right now due to the loosened restrictions! We didn’t mind, so we waited and then proceeded to order 3 chicken shawarmas on laffa. Talked with the cashier (Stephanie D) about her nails as I had seen her nail art on Pinterest, we laughed as that was her inspiration! My husband and I were in great spirits, we received our order number, it was 72 and the time was 7:01pm. Like the other customers, we waited outside to allow other people to go in and order or to pick their order(s) up. I periodically went inside to see if our order was ready. A gentleman with order number 70 picked up his order so I knew ours would be ready soon. I saw someone from the kitchen shaving the chicken so I figured that was for us. I went back outside. Hanging out, talking to my husband about my golf lessons etc, we were still happily waiting. I went back in again and was waiting. Nobody else was in so I was not getting in the way. A gentleman and his son, who had arrived after us, we’re given their meal, order number 74. A chicken shawarma!!! What, wait? That is what we ordered before him. I then saw one of the kitchen staff come and shave the shawarma again. The cashier went back and I could hear her asking if they were making our order. She came back out and told me that the shawarma had to cook so it was taking longer. I went back outside and now my husband and I are getting a little frustrated as others are getting their orders before us and many phone/online orders are being prepared and packaged at the front. Once again, I saw the kitchen staff come and shave the shawarma. Ok, this must be for us right?! The cashier again went into the back and asked about our order. She came back out and specifically told me that they are preparing our order right that minute. I took a deep breath and said ok. I stood inside, with only one other person waiting to order or pick up, I’m not sure. More time goes by and I now realize that it is 7:30pm. We have now been waiting approximately 30 minutes for 3 wraps. I’ve been lied to a couple of times and nobody wants to do anything about it. Add insult to injury, the chicken shawarma that I last saw shaven, was actually placed in another order for pick up, not for our order that was placed 30 mins prior. I finally asked another cashier (young guy, dark hair, dark glasses) if he could please tell me what was actually happening with our order, it has it now been 30 minutes that I’ve been allowed to wait and why did Stephanie blatantly lie to my face. By this time my husband finally came in and immediately asked for a refund. We received no apologies and were told that it was the kitchen’s fault. He then said have a good night. Nothing else. Super poor customer service and an all around frustrating experience. This wasn’t our first time here but it is definitely our last. Hope you all have a much better experience with this...

We used to go as a group every Sunday to the Bathurst and Rutherford location. Today July 7,24 went as a group. The waitress asked my friend how many you are, she told her about 18. She told her if you’re over 15 people, you have to pay $30 per person, my friend told her what if the meal is less as we have kids, she told her you have to pay it no matter what like a minimum charge and you have to pay 18% tips which we always do. My friend told her that’s fine you can split us in 2 tables as we have kids and it’s not fair I ask all families to pay that much. The waitress started to get aggressive and said to my friend you’re going around with our policy, you can all go and find another place, we are not going to service you here . The place was empty as it was 3 pm. We asked for the manager, she said I’m the manager. Her name is Loraine , we asked for the owner, she said he doesn’t accept calls. I’ll call the police if you don’t leave now for you, you can go to another place I’ve been in Canada for 25 years, we go out every weekend and we travel a lot inside Canada, I’ve never seen a waitress/manager with that much rudeness or discrimination and to harass us to call the policy, that was not acceptable as we didn’t argue or do anything wrong to her. She refused to serve and lost the meals for more than 15 people for how bad she was. At the end she said you can come inside, we refused and told her you have the worse attitude, she said I’m sorry but that was too late Please don’t ever consider that place, Lorain is very rude and discriminatory to different nationality and I’ve ever heard a restaurant saying we’ll call the police on you so she was harassing us. Worst service ever. The restaurant manager lauren needs to learn the Meaning of customer service. My husband and me was the first to approach the restaurant today and ask if there's a space for 20 people she said the rules is minimum order $30 per person if the group 15 or more so I told her every Sunday we go out as group never heard of this policy but any way we don't mind to stay separate it's hard we all stay together any way so separate us 10 & 10 she looked at me with attitude you're playing around with the rules and I explained that in fact because I'm respecting your rules but can't request everyone come to over minimum 30 we don't mind to stay separate. So she looked at me and said sorry we can't serve you. So I told her you can't say that if we wanna eat her and we waited 5 minutes the rest of the group came and we find we're actually 13 person so we asked for a table for 13 so she said there's 18% tips must, we was all ok with that except one of us told her by the way this is against Toronto rules so you can go eat somewhere else we will not serve you with a very rude attitude we told her we're bringing u business and you're so rude she said I'll call the police we said yes please call them because we didn't do any thing wrong we just wanna sit & eat.
