Our family has been meaning to visit this spot for quite some time now, but with their operational hours, we found it difficult as on many occasions, we wanted to come by but they weren't open.

Finally, we managed to come by on a Sunday around 7 pm. There was a good number of customers with the dining room filling up more and more as the night went on. They were never at full capacity though, so no waits for tables.

When we arrived, we notified them that we were a table of four and got directed to sit in a corner booth area. We really liked his spot as it felt private yet still in a good spot to be seen when we needed to wave someone down for service. The employees were very friendly and we were always served with a smile, alongside responsiveness and politeness. Once seated, we were offered tea or water, as well as menus.

With our order, we were served complimentary miso soup and salad. We opted for their medium sushi and roll platter which was beautifully plated on a wooden boat. The pieces were average-sized, fresh, and beautiful for the eyes as well as tasty for the tongue. The ratios of rice to fish/other toppings were good. I especially enjoyed the unagi sushi which was very flavorful, as well as the spicy salmon maki which had a nice kick and crunch to them! They were not stingy with the ginger or wasabi, but the wasabi was lacking on flavor - it really didn't taste like anything regardless of the amount you add. The other dish we ordered was their Philadelphia rolls which were also well made with a good amount of salmon and cream cheese.

The decor is minimal but appropriately themed with little ceramic details and even a (fake) cherry blossom tree. Overall, the place was clean. Their washrooms were also okay and decently spacious which was good.

The staff really made sure to greet us on the way out which was...

We really enjoy the sushi here. Quality is good and our favourite is the vegetarian cottage roll. The staff are super nice as well. The reason for the missing 3 🌟s is due to the fact that despite their relatively "higher" menu pricing the take out containers are Styrofoam which are absolutely horrendous for the ecosystem. EVERYONE knows these white Styrofoam containers are the worst! Bad bad bad for the environment. Not compostable not even recyclable ♻ I used to run a bar myself, the difference in cost, honestly, to get compostable containers instead of these cheap ones is NOT a lot! I would as a matter of fact be more than happy to share our suppliers with the management/owner if they wish but this isnt certainly the way. I will certainly reconsider my rating if the management/owner addresses this matter. With love 🙏

Edit: i do not understand what the management mean by "our containers are recyclable" because these Styrofoams that we have received everytime (as shown in the photo) ARE NOT ♻🛑 . They are landfills indeed. And you expect me to bring my own container? Thats both not sanitary to accept outside containers + not even practical. I am not impressed at all. You clearly don't care about 🌎. Lets be serious here. 1...

I made reservations for a group of 7 adults, 2 kids and 2 babies 2 weeks prior. They told me that I was only allowed to come at 530pm instead of 6pm as they would not have enough staff to accommodate us. When we showed up the restaurant was super small. There was barely any space to walk and definitely no space for a stroller. They didn’t have enough chairs at our table so we ended up having to rearrange chairs from other tables ourselves. We had to ask for soy sauce for our sushi and only then did they give us one small bottle of soy sauce to share between 7 adults. We also had to get our own napkins. Needless to say the service was subpar. The sushi was delicious but do not order their appetizers. The popcorn chicken and beef teriyaki were horrible. We brought a cake for a birthday. When we asked for plates the staff told us that they ran out of plates and we would have to use napkins as plates for cake!!! We all had one plate per person and they had empty tables in the restaurant so I’m not sure how they ran out of plates. It seemed like they were trying to rush us out. Overall if you are a small group of 4 or less then this restaurant is fine....

Long story short, great service and ambiance. Good quality food and great dessert. A bit pricey. We came as a party of two on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was sadly pretty empty, considering that it's a clean and well decorated place that deserves more traffic. It does make it easy to get great seats though. We were seated at a booth with cool paper doors/windows and were promptly attended to right away. The server made some suggestions and was super helpful throughout the ordering process. The food came out pretty quick (as expected since there weren't many people there) and while it was definitely pretty and tasty, the price was a bit high. However, given the experience overall warrants it. The mochi ice cream dessert was a real standout, as I'd never had mochi ice cream presented in the way it was. I would definitely come back here. Bonus points, we came back here months later and the server remembered us and said welcome back! Definitely a super nice touch and makes it feel much more personable
