A Deeply Disappointing Brunch Experience – Especially on a Special Occasion
I booked a reservation at this restaurant for my mother’s birthday brunch, hoping for a special and memorable outing. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had—and to make matters even worse, I am currently 39 weeks pregnant.
We arrived promptly at 11:30 AM for our reservation. From the moment we were seated, we were completely ignored—no greeting, no water, no service of any kind. Despite watching staff move around and serve other tables, we sat unattended for 25 minutes. The restaurant had service buttons on the table, which we pressed three separate times—still, no one came.
Eventually, my father managed to get the attention of someone who appeared to be a manager or owner. His first words to us were simply, “Ready?” We placed an order for the “Breakfast for Four” and were told everything would be out in about 20 minutes. We were given a kettle of tea and four glasses—nothing more.
As we waited, we noticed newer tables being seated and promptly served with jams, bread, tea, and more. One family of five, seated well after us, had already started receiving their full spread, identical to what we had ordered. Meanwhile, we sat with nothing but tea for over an hour.
At 12:35 PM—more than an hour after our arrival—my father again flagged down the manager, who offered a vague excuse about eggs taking time. When some food finally arrived, it was shockingly underwhelming: a few tiny jam containers, three small packs of Nutella, a few slices of dry bread, wilted lettuce, and four pieces of dry, bland cheese. This, apparently, was the start of our $130 breakfast.
Eventually, two small egg dishes arrived—sad-looking, dry, and clearly rushed. Even more frustrating, nearby tables who had ordered breakfast for two or three received similar (or better) portions and extras like olives, simit, and borek. We received none of these.
At nearly 1:00 PM, with my mother visibly upset and the whole experience becoming more insulting by the minute, we decided to leave. When we tried to express our frustration to the manager and told him the meal had ruined what was supposed to be a joyful celebration, he said absolutely nothing. Instead, he simply brought over the credit card machine and charged us $141—without explanation, apology, or even basic courtesy. My husband had to step in to address the situation.
We left extremely upset, not just because of the poor service and subpar food, but because of how disrespected and ignored we felt. My review can't fully capture just how disappointing this experience was.
We will never be returning, and we will certainly be sharing this experience with our friends and family. No one deserves to be treated this way—especially not on a...
Read moreDon't fall for the hype! Read google reviews before going! Here's a recap of our experience on Oct 13th, 2025: Customer service by a gentleman by the cash was amazing, but the other staff/servers don't seem to hold the same standard of service It took us at least 10mins to be seated (others before and after us was taken care for, served menus, and given their bills, but I'm not sure why they didn't want to serve us - look at other reviews to see that this is a pattern) They never gave us a menu even after waiting for another 15mins. People that came after us got it while we didn’t. We, as a table of 5, looked up the menu online and decided what we wanted. We waited yet again for someone to take our order but no one came to us so we went up to the cash make the order ourselves we got 6 Buns (already made and is in the glass display), 5 lattes, and 6 desserts (already in glass display); which all took ~20mins to arrive. We were charged 15% service charge, without being informed, and we tipped additional 15%, so basically we paid additonal 30%. We only realized the service charge after the fact, and we weren't informed of it at all (I checked other reviews after, and some people shared the same experience). We also didn't notice any mention of it online, at the cashier counter, and nor by any staff/servers. We ordered 2 pistachio milk cakes (p.s. I went with my family, and one of my family members makes professional luxury cakes and said they didn’t use condensed milk and could be a combo of sugar and milk - so not authentic), but these 2 pistachio milk cakes didn't taste right. When we informed one of the staff/servers, they said it was made fresh, disregarded what we said and didn't look into it any further. We paid for the milk cakes anyways and took it home with us. We shared these pistachio milk cakes (same day) with other family members & friends, and they felt nauseous immediately after trying. Staff/servers shouldn't have dismissed us, and should have at least inquired/investigated with the kitchen or with other staff to understand customer feedback Atmosphere is nice, lots of plants and greenery, they have a TV displaying scenic areas and attractions of Turkey which was pretty nice Cafe hours and timings was very convenient as they were open during Thanksgiving and generally open till late on...
Read moreWell this turned out to be a very bad and low class experience. 2 couples went there tonight for coffee and dessert, thinking it was an Italian place, it wasn’t. Ordered flat white coffee. We got a cup of milk, room temperature, not even luke warm milk, literally room temperature. Not anywhere close to a flat white. Way too much milk, zero espresso to be found in it. They corrected it by bringing espresso and warm milk on the side. That worked. But I’d expect if you’re serving flat white that you’d know what a flat white is. Then we ordered a cake that was pictured on the menu, with chocolate on it. It arrived at our table, no chocolate on it. I asked why. She said “oh you want chocolate sauce, I can give you some no problem.” I said “I want what’s pictured on the menu, that’s what I ordered, cake with chocolate”. So she took the cake away and brought it back with chocolate. Why wasn’t there chocolate on it the first time? That’s what I ordered. Then a table beside, with a group of men, owners or men that work there, the smell of body odour from those men was just nauseating, it was extreme and just ridiculous. Is there a reason those people couldn’t shower. Who the hell leaves their house smelling that badly. And why? Just awful. Really really awful. Then we went to pay. They added a service charge to our bill. I ask what that’s for? They replied, oh that’s just what we do because we serve people here so we charge a 10% service charge. So essentially it’s a forced tip. Considering how bad the service was I should get to choose whether I will tip or not. But they’re not very smart cause they would have gotten more from me if I’d been able to choose my own tip. But when it’s forced on me like that, you lose a customer for good. Nobody decides how I spend my money, except me. And I don’t appreciate deceit. So they got the 10% from us but they lost 4 customers. And before all of this we were making plans to come back some Saturday nite to try their food cause we saw what was being brought out to tables and thought we might want to try it. Nope. 4 people turned...
